What makes you think NO, George he still one more year on his contract. So he could if he wants to I think. He most likely is unhappy how this one ended, so He might give it another try. But it also could hinge on how the team improves in the off-season......Bob
Did you see the look on his face. He has given it his all and I think he is just worn out. Especially after the beating he took today. Who knows, give him a few months to heal up and he might come back. But if I had to bet I would have to say he's done. He's had a great year and would be going out on a high note. Other than that pick at the end of regulation.

As a football fan, I feel for Farve...I hope he comes back. The Vikings were the better team; just not today. I'll be pulling for the Saints and the Texas boy Brees.
You may have a point there Jim, I would rather it be the Vikings, But I have always liked Brees, with the exception of today. But he will give me a team to root for in the SB......Bob
I happen to catch Favre's press conference on the NFL channel just a bit ago. Man.... he looked like he went through a meat grinder. Face all cut up. At the end he hobbled off the stage. What a warrior....
If this was his last year, then it was a great ride and I for one am glad I had the opportunity to watch the great #4 in purple do what he does best.
The last pass Favre threw as a packer was the last pass of a championship to lose, now his last pass as a Viking, same thing. Although there were a few single plays that if changed would have made a Viking victory.
The heartbreaker was Longwell would have made the 52 yarder. Then the 12 men in the huddle, that NEVER happens.
And even a field goal after the Saints turnover just before half.
Oh well I'll get over it eventually.
The Vikings have the better team in every way except to hang onto the ball.
Vikes have the personnel to win it all next year.
I don't think Brett will be back. Sure he will physically be able to.
See his Wife during the game? It was killing her. Brett will now put family first.
Been fun Brett, THANKS!
If you look to the past, there were a number of older quarterbacks that were past their prime and became second string quarterbacks with other teams. (Right now George Brett is the only name I can come up with, but there are others.) When called upon to take over a game, they were brilliant. They could easily play 3 or 4 games with the same brilliance that they had in years past. The problem is that they never had the stamina to play a full season.
I think the same issue applies to Farve. I really think the season had its toll on him and would be very surprised to see him back next year. He took a lot of hits this year because he lost the ability to scramble. Another step slower and he's going to be looking through the ear hole of his helmet the whole game.
No Super Bowl! No NFC Championship! But still a very good season for the Vikings all thanks to #4. They would never have done this well with TJack at QB. So that brings up our next subject for discussion. If Brett doesn't come back, and all the players are saying he is going to retire, who will be the Vikings QB next year and years to come?
I hate to say this, but I think the Saints played a very dirty game. The darn Refs let them get by with it, all but 1 time. I'll bet Farve can hardly move today, It will Thursday before he starts to feel normal. #4 has a way of putting all this stuff behind him and only looks at the up-coming season. He still has 1 year on his contract to play with the Vikings for 13 mil.. The door is till open, it is up to him if he wants to try again........Bob
Bob, I agree that the refs let too much go. It was obvious the Saints were trying to knock Favre out of the game. And I still don't think that last reception that the Saints had and that gave them the shorter field goal was a reception. I was sure after watching the replays that they were going to overturn that catch. He never had control when the ball touched the ground. Oh well, it over so no sense beating up the refs. If the Vikes had just held on to the ball it would have been a mute issue. They dominated the Saints in every phase of the game except turnovers.
And NO, I wouldn't take Kyle Orton. He wouldn't be any better than TJack.
George you are right, I'm just a poor loser I guess. All those fumbles really hurt most were in scoring positions. Which really hurt worse, Like you said if they had all those scores it would not have even been close.......Bob
