Quail Hunting Pics and Videos

Did a quail inspection yesterday. Some were located after all the snow.

Took the dogs for a run today again. Three days in a row getting them out. Didn't find any quail yesterday, but Indy found some today.

He got on the downwind side of a line, and off he went.

You can just see him up by the hedge row in the middle of the frame.

Indy was still standing when Ace and I finally got there.

Looking back at Ace backing.

Ace does not have the range that Indy has, so he ends up backing a lot when I run them together.

Thats the great thing about quail and pointing dogs.

NO your talking of only Bobwhites and mearn Quail. A dog at ranging at six hundred yards on gambles, scalies, and the other Quail in this country, would be long gone when you got to the dog. LOL just poking you setternut.:D

I got to get out that way and see for myself :D
Bobs are great, but I want to try them all.

But Indy is not always at 600+. It depends on the cover.

But we did get schooled several time by pheasants this fall. Some ran off, some stayed and got shot, but it was all fun.

you are welcome anytime you want to come. don't take your dog unless you want them hurt, and going to the vet. now kidding it ruff as hell on dogs down here. Pm me if you want to come. :)

I would love to take you up on that some time. We have Scalies in the SW corner of the state.

Went to Montana last year, and stayed around here this year.
But it is fun to get out after new birds. Huns, sharptail and Sage grouse were a blast.

I love that 618 yds. There was a time when I might have seen that had my dogs been wearing a GPS. Equipment not available then. Do not have the dog with that range, the quail, or that type of land to hunt.

I enjoy the clips and pictures you post and your dogs even more.

Murphya,

That is one of the longer distance points I have had in KS quail country.
But there were some longer in Montana

I have a lot of fun taking video and pictures of the dogs. It also makes them stand their birds longer before I go in to flush.
