Nothing better than a point at 600 plus yards and the birds still there when you make it to the dog.
Thats the great thing about quail and pointing dogs.
NO your talking of only Bobwhites and mearn Quail. A dog at ranging at six hundred yards on gambles, scalies, and the other Quail in this country, would be long gone when you got to the dog. LOL just poking you setternut.
I got to get out that way and see for myself
Bobs are great, but I want to try them all.
But Indy is not always at 600+. It depends on the cover.
But we did get schooled several time by pheasants this fall. Some ran off, some stayed and got shot, but it was all fun.
