I don't know, them quail have no top knot, no cotton top, and just look funny. LOL congats on the bobs. WE don't have them down here and I have not had the pleasure of hunting wild bobs. Great video and great pic's.:thumbsup:

This is a picture of one of the last hunts I took my old Gordon on. That is Ace at about 12 months old, with my son walking in to flush the covey.

thanks...yes Steve I'm lucky to have some great places to hunt...wish I had a lot more but I'm very grateful for what I have...when I lived in NJ wild quail were over 1,000 miles away. great vids too guys...man....I gotta start videoing.....I have a Go Pro sitting here at the house...never used...its missing the mounting hardware though.....surely I can figure something out....glad I wasn't video taping yesterday....I whiffed on two pointed coveys....first time this season...they got in my head after the first covey....oh well that's wild bird hunting....I'm kinda glad that I didn't kill any they'll be there for next time....had good dog work and I killed a rooster pheasant...wasn't a total loss...lol Cant wait to go to KANSAS
 
Great pictures everybody.

We don't have wild quail around here in PA but I did get a picture of some birds that I always enjoy seeing. It was taken in January and the birds were out on their own for several months.

This was a mile from my folks place. My dad sent me this pic last year after one of the big snows in eastern Kansas.
 
HAPPY THANKSGIVING everybody....I was invited to quail hunt some prime private ground here in IL this morning...they only hunt it 2 days a year. was just myself and a relative of the landowner....he just wanted to watch the dog work...we both had to be at family dinners by noon....we hunted 2 spots found one large covey 25 plus birds at first spot....2 coveys 15 plus birds at second spot...FANTASTIC hunt....had lots of points....very THANKFUL for the opportunity...here's some pics.

same point...If you look closely under the end of my gun in the shadow I was casting..you will see one of the birds...a cock bird...I'm trying to enlarge it and get it to come out clear.

That looks like a nice place to hunt.

thanks...oh FOR SURE.....his uncle used to have Britts years ago but they dont anymore and everybody is always too busy farming he said...he said we may go back and hunt again week of Christmas....he's got more farms too that we didn't have time to make it to today....what a great Christmas gift that would be! He told me when he was a kid.....the first spot we hunted today used to hold 10 to 12 coveys! Wasn't that long ago cause he's only 26 I think now....
