Pheasant gun specific

Do any of you have a gun you primarily use for Pheasant hunting only? I don't want to hear about the all around gun's some may use but only the gun's that some consider their "Pheasant" gun.

I do have one gun I call my Pheasant gun. It's a Weatherby Athena III 12ga 28" O/U. I have others that might someday become my replacement for the Athena. It's on the heavy side and I have several much lighter 20ga guns that are much more friendly in the weight department.

Do you have a gun, that when it see's action. It's only in the Pheasant fields?

Browning 625 Citori 12 ga. o/u w/28" barrels.

Beretta 303 sold my o/u and am happy im now walking with this gun shoulders much smoother than any other gun ive owned weight is not bad either!

For years it was my Benelli Montefeltro 12 ga. but since I bought my Browning Sweet Sixteen a couple years ago it's about all I use. On occasion I'l take my 16 ga. Citori White Lightning.

But right now my PRIMARY pheasant gun is the Sweet Sixteen. Love the way it shoulders and points. Could be a tad lighter but it's so well balanced I don't notice a little extra weight. It's a little over 7 lbs.

Yep, Beretta 687 Silver Pigeon II. It's got lovely wood on it, which was varnished when I got it but now oil-finished. I had it custom-fitted to me (steam-bending) and had a no-snag recoil pad installed as well. LIght enough to carry all day, but heavy enough to shoot all day. Gunsmith also lightened the stock ever so slightly so that it's a hair barrel-heavy infront of the hinge, so it pretty much swings itself and follows through nicely. I absolutely love it for pheasants, so much that I'm actually starting to dislike using any other gun for other species... The gun was not the subject of this pic, but it does show off the incredible furniture on it!

About the only time my A-5 Sweet Sixteen comes out is on nice days in the rooster fields! Same goes for it's brother, the A-5 Mag Twenty although it's been on a few dove shoots.

Beretta A302 12ga w/ fixed modified choke. I keep trying other guns and it always comes back to that one being the first one out of the safe.

benelli cordoba 12 guage 28 inch dose of #5 federal pheasant forever thats what you call dead meat and a cloud of feathers

Winchester 101; however, my new to me A5 Sweet 16 will make its debut this year.

Browning Sweet 16. The only time I use it is for pheasants. About as good a pheasant gun as you could want. Lighter than its 12 gauge brothers and kills them dead.

When my shooting eye is on, Ithaca flues 20ga. 5 1/2#-6#, or an Ithaca M-37 Ultralight 20ga. 5 3/4#. Good travelling guns. If it's late, windy, with pheasants bunched up. I use a Winchester SX-2 Light, Browning Fusion 12ga. basically the same gun 6 1/2#. Nothing over a 26" barrel. modified choke. I don't shoot long range shots.

I see how it is you were all about the double guns but now its back to the autos like you used to use. I bet you wish you never would have gotten rid of that 1187 special field you used to use.
