Name ideas?

Depending on how much training you plan on doing, your dogs' call name might be God D___it or Jesus Christ. :p

I've always used one syllable names. Here's a couple unused favorites, Deuce, River, Cedar, Aspen.
My next pup will be registered as Glen Edin's Daybreaker. Call name Ty. Can anyone get the reference
My favorite AKC register name is "World Famous Rosa Barks" call name Rosie. She's a BLF

Name

Well, I see your from Wisconsin, as I am. You probably have some Norwegian blood in you, so you could go that route. Lars, Knut, Jens, and Radar are all good Norwegian names for dogs. I wanted to go with Jens for my puppy but my daughter wouldn't let me because she named her son that, which was fine because I ended up getting a female. I'm sure you will make the right choice with all the help you got from all of us.

I currently have a Hank; no problems noted. How about Taz? Short & resembles no commands I use.

Thanks to all who replied! We pick him up on the 22nd. As of right now his name is "Cash".
A few names are still in the running, but 3 of 5 are with "Cash"
I'll put the final name up in a few days

Thanks again!

Congrats on the new pup, he looks like a keeper. I'm picking up my female JRT pup in two weeks and she'll be named Flirt. Thanks to Uncle Buck who I stole the name from.

How about old "Yeller" ??:confused::(:eek:

That reminds me of a yellow lab on the old Ducks Unlimited Waterdog tv show that aired a bunch of years ago, really good show I might add. Justin Tackett the host had a dog that he owned and used on the show called "Yella". Thought that was a pretty fitting name for yellow lab.

You guys remember this show?

Here are a few others that I might consider if I was getting a Yellow pup.

Wrigley
Tanner
Dusty
Sonny

Looks like he cashed out! Nice looking pup! I've used Cash and Cache both before. My buddy has a Cash now. Enjoy the ride!

I think he stole it from gun dog editor, Dave Duffy's pointer! a good name should be re-lived in a new great dog! It's a shooting dog's tradition. :)

Congrats! May you & Cash have a great journey together.

Thanks guys! What a start the first day...not one accident in the house, slept on his bed and in his crate. We locked up Jake at first, he was so excited about the smell of the new puppy on me, I wasn't sure if the pup was going to be afraid because of all the new sights and smells. When they met Jake was so excited you'd of thought he was the puppy!

Way to good so far....I know it's only a few days away and he'll probably turn into a little ball mischief!

Jake, Jack, Rufus, Rudy and Max round out the" Golden Gang" for me. These dogs date back to 1972, Max being to sole survivor.

Keep the names short - easier in the field.

Good Luck!

I've got a Max and a Jake. My Max is a ball chasing chocolate lab with no hunting desire and an attitude, he'll retreiver a tennis ball all day and couldn't care less about a bird, Jake being just the opposite!
