Yes I know there's many choices but after the let down of Loyall backing out of Tsc stores where do I go from here. I just want some good suggestion on dog food of you have them thanks.

New Performance dog food soon to be available to the general public. Being introduced at Pheasant Fest. Had the chance to try a couple sample bags last fall and really like it.

I use acana dog food. sport and agility. About the only food I have tried that will keep some wieght on my GSP.

He looks great, nice clean coat, never loses energy.

Diamond Naturals Chicken and Rice. Works great for my mutts. No corn no wheat no soy. Great price for weight, and does right by the dogs. Been on it for a few years now. And all 7 do great on it. It is a 30-20 food.

I have always fed my dogs Purina One which is carried in all grocery stores, Walmart, etc. Its 26/16 and my dogs thrive on it. The vets always compliment their physical fitness and excellent health. You'll never not be able to find your dog's food if you feed Purina One.

Probably no bigger hot issue in the bird dog world than what food should I feed my dog ... well maybe second to what breed should I buy.

Iams Lamb & Rice has worked well for my dogs. Plenty of energy, excellent coats, generally excellent health. MFF and Tgt both sell.

Diamond has a loyal following with the bird dog breeders in Minnesota.

We feed our labs Nutri Source, grain free. Seems one of our dogs can't handle any other dog food unless its gluten free:confused:

Lots of energy, they eat smaller portions and less land mines in the yard!
Down side $48.00 for a 30lb bag.

I'm sick of these dog food manufacturers keeping their prices the same and they just keep cutting back on the weight of the bag. I feed Iams and the bags are now less than 30 pounds .. Goes too quick with two dogs. I may have to change it up..

Good point. With wanting to save this day and age. Diamond Naturals has stayed at 40lb bags all along, and kept the price down. 25-30$ a bag depending on where ya buy. Menards has it, so you can pretty much find it any where as well. Often we hear of recalls, but what people do not get is every single dog food producer has issues. Some just keep it quiet. I like a company that fesses up instantly and gets it fixed quick. had that problem with 2 popular companies a few years back. Never was a recall, yet caused bloody snotty stool and sickness in about 50 spaniels I know of. In private they admitted it to us later. They lost every one of us and a pro staffer for it. I have been with the same food for all the mutts as said I believe over 3 years and love it. And I know if some bad product slips through, they will let me know, and I can check the number on the bag. That's who I like to work with any way, and why. Cant argue the performance.:10sign:

Another good point as BM said, is why does someone always have to come on food discussion and start a feud LOL. No one has yet. Maybe the 10th with be the charm LOL. I am always interested in good food at fair price. And like this talk to see if a new prospect pops up. I also know now I will be corn, wheat, soy free. Just me, ear infections are all but history for 3 years runnin. Other stuf, all the time. So I will keep an eye out for something that does me the same or better for less$. When you have 7-8 dogs, it becomes a slight concern.

Not sure if it is available in your area, but check into Victor Dog Food. It is definitely good dog food, but not sure if it is an option in your area.

Have fed my Labs Eukanuba for over 30 years. Have had great success. My dogs hunt, train and compete hard. Always have looked great with tons of energy. But, to feed three or more dogs the cost is gotten to be to much. Don't like the reduction in bag size and paying the same. Got to find something else but not sure what.

I feed my GSP's Diamond Brand extreme athlete. They actually keep their weight even during hunting season. I'll put salmon oil on the food sometimes as well to keep a nice healthy coat.

Orijen

I have my two labs on Orijen Adult Dog food. I like it because it is 38% protein and 18% crude fat. Plus it contains 80% meat, fish, eggs and 20% fruits/vegetables with 0% grain/potatoes. The two girls look great and have plenty of energy. The only down side is we are spending about $65 for a 28.6lbs bag.

http://www.dogfoodadvisor.com/ I have used this site to see and compare what else is out there. It seems as though if you want a premium dog food, that is what you are going to pay for it.

Ouch! I thought I was paying a lot. How many bags a month?
At that price I'd consider feeding No Name steaks instead. Lol!

Man that's high. You can get a 5lb tube of ground beef at wally world for 10 bucks. ;)

I know what I'm spending is a lot...about $2.28/lb. My two labs run about 50 lbs each, so that makes a bag last a little longer. Maybe I should put em on the B.A.R.F. diet...bones and raw food. This time of year there is a ton of road kill...elk and mulies. Might need to get a walk in freezer so I can stock up!:p
