Christmas Wish List

With it being Christmas I was thinking of what I would really like. Of course the thoughts turned to what I would want in the way of a new gun, not that I need one. What I want is a Browning BSS 20 ga. like I had back in the 70's. I got stupid and sold it.

Then I thought what I would really like to see, and that is for Browning to start making the BSS again. And what I really, really want is for them to make it in a 16 ga. with 26" barrels and choke tubes. My ultimate upland gun.

Come on Santa, I've been a good boy!

Good one Zeb.:10sign:

I'll take a Merkel 1620 English stock, dt, 28" ic/ mod barrels Santa, please.:D

Christmas came early for me. I bought a new Franchi Instinct Sl in 20 gauge right before my last trip to SD. Pretty sweet. Nice carry at about 5 1/2 lbs. I am a big guy but my first gun was a Ithaca model 37 featherweight that weighed about 5 lbs soaking wet. I have liked light guns every since.

Greetings George,

Have thought about a new gun - perhaps the new Browning Hump-back. However, I would have to add two handles to get it to my shoulder, so the thought fades quickly.

I lugged my 1941, A5 around last week and it worked well. The gun seems to come up easier that my 20 ga. I measured the barrel and it's 25" not 26 and has an improved cyl..

Cheers!

Christmas

If there is a Santa, I would respectfully request a Fausti Class in 16 guage with 28 inch barrels.

You all are thinking too small. How about a matched pair of Holland & Holland SxSs - just under $200,000.00. Come on Santa! :p

I would ask him to turn back the clock to last Friday and give those young children and adults their lives back first and foremost.

As far as something nice for myself. I would like a nice Browning 525 sporting in 16ga with really sweet wood.

Merry Christmas everybody, may your travels be safe and your joy be plenty. God Bless:cheers:

i can shoot anything. i wish for a very wet early spring, dry nest and hatching period and a record recovery for the birds. God bless all and have a wonderful Christmas!

wish list

at least one guy was thinking, good weather this winter and a wonderful spring is what santa really ought to bring, no gun will do if we don't have something to shoot with it. not sure the bss was ever that great a gun and used they are a little too expensive for what ya get. the 16 ga. shootin 1 1/8 load is a real killing machine and a wonderful gun if it can be found made on the 16 or better yet, a 20 ga. frame. most use just attached to some 12 ga. frame and ruined the whole idea. i have a number of 20 ga. in the older l.c's and ithaca but i really love the cz bobwhite in 28 ga. and it is actually made on the correct frame. ya all, good luck with santa but wish weather

Always nice to wish and dream... I sure would like another 20 ga o/u. The reality of it is, I have one that fits me well that I shoot with confidence. A little beat up but it's a field gun, not a collectors item. Wouldn't want something I have to leave in the case. Went through my safe few years back and donated 2 guns to Pheasants Forever. Fired a few rounds when I first got them, after that they collected dust in the safe, didn't really need them.
How about world peace? Since that is highly unlikely, let's pray for all our troops defending the freedoms we all share. May they be ever vigilant, stay safe, and return home to enjoy future holidays with their families.:)
...and join us on a pheasant hunt next season!

1-My Mom is late stage cancer
2-My son is still diabetic
3-the world hates each other yet nobody knows why
4-politicians don't care about us and are all millionaires
5-lock up our borders for a few years
6-how long before the first person in involved in a serious accident in WA from smoking pot? Then what?
7-owning a small business is not what its cracked up to be and the Gov doesnt care about us - its how do we help the large corporations.
8-Firestone told me 2 days ago they had my tires in stock. Went there this morning to drop off my truck - no tires even in the district. Will be next week at best.
9-and a partridge in a pear tree
10- Im chasing roosters in the morning.

Merry Christmas. (Im not afraid to say it)
Got an email from Staples yesterday - the subject was *Merry Savings*. Good grief, anything to avoid saying Merry Christmas. Unsubscribed..

Im not a scrooge and not in a bad holiday mood. Just the things that make me go Hmmmm...

for browning to make a new model a5 in sweet sixteen. I'm even willing to pay a little xtra for it.:D

Would that be a Sweet Sixteen based on the new A5 or one based on the old style? Even though it is a little heavier I still like my Belgium Sweet and it's solid steel receiver. It just says "Quality".

more dogs

two springers and a red setter, what a combination, what is this stuff about your wife, you afraid that she is reading your post, just kidding. actually with a set of dogs like that you are really lucky to have a wife. trying to be serious but how do your springers do and do you hunt them often, the red dog is problematic but would like to hear about it sometime, most got bred to death and few survived to hunt another day. tell us about them

I actually have 2 reds now. I just haven't figured out how to change my signature. I hunt quite a bit, considering I have to young kids at home. My springers are very productive as far as birds in the bag but I think I have more fun with the setters. The reds are extremely slow to develop but we are just about there now.

These are not the show Irish Setters. To learn more about the red setters, check here: http://nrsftc.com/?page_id=350 My male is a big runner. He likes to be 250+ yards out on the Astro. I usually try and keep him in a little. He is bird crazy but was a little bird of a struggle to steady on wild birds.

You gotta feel for those parents this weekend! Say a prayer for them. Christmas for me is about watching others open what I have gotten them! But if someone were to get me something, I probably would want a new O/U in 16 guage. Something that comes up right for me and kills every bird I shoot at!
