Best Public land to hunt in Kansas?

You married a seven year old?

Welcome to the forum.

Per the rest of the Aggies posting above, the '03 designation refers to her year of graduation from aTm, although theres times she acts like a 7 year old when she doesn't get her way.

Just hoping to fit in, ksbrit. I have been trying to refine my sense of rediculousness. On this site, it would appear that I would not be alone.

Forget the black and gold. Get that kid to Texas ASAP and raise him/her right! What were you thinking having a baby in the middle of hunting season? My oldest was born in january, 1996, and I thought my wife was gonna blow a gasket when I went to new mexico deer hunting the november before. Sometimes women just don't get it. Congratulations and get ready for the best years of your life. Only problem is they go by way too fast.

No kidding. Our first kid is due in less than a month, lots of purple and maroon in the babies room. The bad thing is he'll probably end up wearing black and gold.

Cross dressing at an early age, this can't be good.

Seriously, congratulations! I pray blessings on the baby and parents.

Yeah, sounds very familiar to an "ass is a ass" and a "hole is a hole" ;) lol... no worries my dues will be paid ten fold I hope, which means all the more hunting. It never hurts to ask for a fellow brothers opinion and there have been some helpful response.

dnt worry davis i was teaching ole rooster cogburn here how to hunt a cut cornfield wasnt to long ago he didnt have a clue how to hunt thye great state of ks lol my fav thing on this forum is listening on how to hunt or work fields different methods etc

Hold on Texans

As the Okies say when ask how to find Texas, " Go west till you smell it, than south till you step in it!" Don't even get me started on Aggie jokes.

@only a pointer - Right you are & I am grateful!!! :D

The pooch & I flushed & shot quite a few roosters last year right out in the middle of big cut cornfields after your suggestion by quietly working crossrow & upwind. I really like the "dirty" cornfields whenever you can find 'em (long, raggedy bent-over stubble instead of the usual short, clean-cut stuff - hard walking, but it "holds" em just as good as CRP)...

I wasn't pickin on anybody looking for tactics or tips or even generalized areas for that matter - was just makin a funny really about lookin for "the best spot in KS"! :p

How was the hunting? I am considering same hunt in January. I hunt SD every year and can't get away again until Jan. so the KS pheasant season works. All details will be helpful.

M.R. ,

My buddy is manger that place and your right they have great food! Let me know if you are in town and I'll point you to some other good places...my brother is an Exec Chef here in KC. He doesn't hunt but likes to come out and be the camp cook!

Good luck this weekend!

Hey, Kick Them Up,

Sorry, I just now saw your post. Don't know why I didn't see it sooner, but just didn't. You probably thought I was being rude and I don't want you to get that idea.

I will give you a shout one of these days. Would love to hear more about your favorite eateries in KC. Your brother would be welcome in deer camp, Colorado elk camp or pheasant camp anytime!

We usually are in KC every four weeks or so to see the kids and grandkids. I am playing nurse for my wife after her surgery, so stuck in Dodge for awhile, then she gets to return the favor for me. Darn golden years.

Just thinking of Ponak's is making me really hungry.

Rosedale BBQ is even closer!!!!

That is true sir! Rosedale BBQ is also very good

My blue ribbon would have to go to Zarda on 87th. Their BBQ brisket is the best in town... Their BBQ brisket/sausage sandwich cannot be beat! :D

Apologies for hijacking this thread with BBQ by the way. As you can tell, I'm a huge fan. I smoke probably 30-40 times between Spring, Summer, and Fall ;)
