Finally "Pulled the Trigger"

Hopefully sometime tomorrow my cashier's check will have reached Illinois, and a Browning Citori Feather Lightning 16 ga. with 26" barrels will be heading to Kansas City!

I can't wait to pick it up!

Good to hear Wildcat! I bought the same gun myself this summer, though with 28" barrels. I'm assuming this is a new gun? The short production run from last year?

Are you going to use the Invector chokes that come with it or have them fitted for Briley, Teague or?

Steel shot could be an issue, just finding it in shot size for dove etc....

Mine was bought to give the old Model 12 16ga a rest.

Yeah, it is supposedly "new in the box", and has never been opened. I'm going to make sure I open and inspect it prior to leaving the store it is being shipped to. And yes, it is supposed to be from an uncatalogued 2010 run.

I'm not sure about the chokes yet. I guess I'll have to see how the factory chokes pattern first. I do wish they made some of their fancy "diamond grade" chokes in 16. :D

Wildcat,

That's a nice smoke stick.....enjoy:cheers:

Browning "Best There Is" plain and simple. Great choice..Congrats.

We better see pictures when it arrives. :10sign:

Nice gun. They had one at Cabela's in kansas city 4-5 weeks ago. I looked at one and loved it. Couldn't pull the trigger. I had to come up with a creative way to pay for it, if you know what i mean. I just bought a new gun last year, and my wife would have a cow. So i figured out how I was going to do it, went back to get it and it was gone. Hope one of you guys got it.

If you're still interested in getting one Carptom, the guy I purchased mine from has a few more left, in both 26" and 28" barrels. Let me know and I'll shoot you a PM with the information. I'll also fill you in further on my purchase after the transaction is complete. And of course, pics!

No problem. Hopefully it's here by the end of the week. I'll fill you in on all the details then. I think I actually handled the 16 ga. you're talking about at Cabelas. I went up there hoping to find one similar to the one I was going to buy to make sure it "felt right", and lo and behold, it was there.

Just remember the Invector plus chokes won't work for that gun. They are beautiful guns though. I do think Briley makes chokes for it though. Let me know if you find steel shot for it reasonably.

Welcome to the wonderful world of the 16 ga. I have a White Lightning with 26" barrels. The chokes are just fine. I shoot IC/Mod all the time except for my NSTRA trials I bought a Skeet and shoot Skeet/IC.

Your 12's will be spending a lot of time in the gun case. :)

I haven't taken a 12 out of the gun case in years! 16 ga all the time!

Hey now... gotta give the 12 some respect. After all, it'll nearly lop off the head of a turkey like this!

Enjoy your new gun and tell us some stories about putting game in the bag with it.
