Well, I shot craps on Pheasant Fest as well. My daughter made the state diving championships, so off to St Peter, Mo. Rec Plex I go. I might make it back for a quick tour on Sunday.

Carol, emailed me today and said she had 4 people signed up for our table and we need 10 for them to seat us upfront at a sponsored table.

If you are going to the banquets call carol NOW and reserve your spot please.:)

We have 5 people signed up for the dinner tables now. Still five spots open. Call Carol or PM me if you want to join us either Friday or Saturday night at the banquets.

Also, I have an extra ticket for Friday admission and the Friday Night dinner that I will sell at half price if anyone is interested. First come first serve.

need some help!

Pass It On - Outdoor Mentors will be working the Crosman Air Rifle range at Pheasant Fest and we're short of volunteers to help run the range. If you would like to spend a couple of hours helping kids shoot, we'll have tickets for you to get into the hall.

Let me know!

Thanks,

Mike Christensen

Not sure what time I'll be up there Chris, but if I'm around for the banquet, is it safe to say I can just find you guys and pull up a chair (after I purchase my ticket, of course)?

Yep u bet. Just give a call on my cell as if we are short of a full table PF cannot reserve one for us. Then I will have to rush the stage and reserve one for us and then the hunting skills will come into play for the rest of the table attendees:).

Hope you can make it.

Right now at the table I have these names:
Chris, Kelly, Tom, Mike and Wayne

Wife and I are coming up Sat. morning. Didn't plan to stay for the dinner but we might. How much are the dinner tickets?

I will be there fri at 1:00 and some saturday for awhile. I would be happy to meet some of you guys there even though I am pretty new to the board.

Hello from Pheasant Fest!

Great show. So far have met MR Byrd, Deadbird, Jaytee. I missed Dakotazeb. One thing for next year. We have found it difficult to meet/greet outside of meal functions. The Friday and Saturday night dinners have a 1.5 hour meet/greet time and that works great.

Became a life member upon arriving at the show and you get a leather jacket with that and a 1 in 10 shot at a new gun. I think they are close to 10 Life members.

Also got a plan together for offering 200 acres more CRP on the farm and getting 1100 acres re-enrolled at one UGUIDE pheasant camp.

The farm bill biologist land owner helpdesk was a business place which is good.

Supposed to meet one more UPH member today at lunch event.

I want to thank Wildcat for helping out at the air rifle booth yesterday. We had so many kids shooting we ran out of pellets!

I'll be hanging around again today...say hi if you're in the neighborhood!

Was able to make it up to KC on Friday for the first afternoon of Pheasant fest and it was really good. Got to set in on 3 different seminars about quail and habitat resto and learned some good info from some really good speakers. Scott Sudkamp with MDC is probably one of the best speakers I've heard in quite a while and he was speaking about brood rearing habitat and the importance of WEEDS!!!! We need more weeds. Also listened to Bill White talk about the restoration efforts on his own 60 acre farm in Northern MO where he went from about 2 coveys of 8 to 10 birds each to 12 coveys of 15-20 birds all in the span of about 15 years I believe, have to check my notes. But regardless, the transformation was phenominal. I also got to meet UGUIDE and deadbird and enjoyeed my brief visit with them outside the banquet room. Looked like you guys were in for a good time in there, wish I could've stayed. For those that missed the fest, you missed out. Also bought me a bird-n-light hunting vest along with a 2012 fest cap.:cheers:

No problem Mike - I was glad to help. You guys had a busy booth! I did have to bite my tongue a little when the governor came by though. :D

I have the same vest Jaytee, and love it. I bought it before Browning acquired Pella, so it doesn't have the PF Logo or Buckmark, but it's a damn fine vest regardless.

Pheasant Fest was great. As a first timer, I'll definitely be going to another!

Show headed to Mpls MN Feb 15-17 2013

Press Release

Kansas City, Mo. - February 19 -
Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever’s National Pheasant Fest & Quail Classic concluded today, drawing 22,136 attendees to the weekend event at the Kansas City Convention Center. The national convention and outdoor tradeshow, presented by Cabela’s, was in Kansas City for the first time.

In addition to providing significant economic impact for the host city and attending outdoor industry vendors, Pheasants Forever uses its National Pheasant Fest & Quail Classic to recruit members for its wildlife habitat conservation mission. More than 950 individuals signed up as Pheasants Forever or Quail Forever members.

The event also delivered wildlife habitat benefits specific to Kansas and Missouri. The Landowner Habitat Help Room at the show serviced 282 landowners providing conservation guidance on 123,726 acres of land predominately located in the neighboring states. Accompanied by a trained Pheasants Forever or Quail Forever biologist, or partnering biologist from Missouri Department of Conservation, Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism, or the U.S. Department of Agriculture, landowners were educated on ways they can improve their acres for wildlife and even what local, state, and federal conservation programs they qualify for enrollment.

“Kansas City exceeded our expectations for our signature event,” said Howard Vincent, Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever’s President and CEO, “For us to grow our wildlife habitat impact, we need to grow the number of people connected to our organization. It was incredible to see so many new faces at the show and in particular we were thrilled to see so many quail enthusiasts come out to talk about quail habitat.”

Pheasants Forever will hold its next National Pheasant Fest & Quail Classic on February 15, 16 and 17, 2013 at the Minneapolis Convention Center. The event will mark the Twin Cities-based wildlife habitat conservation organization’s 30th anniversary. The organization last held its signature event in Minnesota in 2008 where a show-record 29,802 people attended.

Pheasants Forever, including its quail conservation division, Quail Forever, is the nation's largest nonprofit organization dedicated to upland habitat conservation. Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever have more than 130,000 members and 700 local chapters across the United States and Canada. Chapters are empowered to determine how 100 percent of their locally raised conservation funds are spent, the only national conservation organization that operates through this truly grassroots structure.
