where’s Bob

I have seen several post that have members talking about hens being shot, none have been advocating shoiting hens, accidents happen, and some post talk about self reporting to CO's and the pros and cons of doing so. Who hasn't pooped in the field or behind a bale of hay, literally shit happens, hell I've done it along major freeways much to my embarrassment.

None of those here. Literally, none of them.

I use a toilet, I don't shoot hens, I've never pointed a gun at someone while hunting, and no one has ever pointed one at me.

I've got control of my bowels, control of my shotgun, and I can tell the difference between a rooster and a hen. None of these items are out of my personal control while upland hunting.

I've been a member of this site since 2008. For several years I was a moderator. Being a moderator can at times be a no win deal. You try to keep the peace on the site and keep everything civil. Over the years as a moderator I think I saw about every kind of member on this site and a fair number that were banned. You have guys like Goose that irritate the heck out of some members and yet others that enjoy his posts. Sometimes you make the right decision and others you don't. That's life. I'd leave it up to webguy to make the tough calls. Afterall, it's his site. Best we can do is try and get along and not offend others. Best of luck to our Mods. I wouldn't want the job back. :)

As a member of other forums I think that the only thing for me that causes issue is insults and politics.
Insults are the worst. No reason for it. We are all adults. I’m sure most would never say anything disparaging to someone in person over a hunting story or advice.
Politics can get a bit heated and there are folks on all sides of the spectrum who are very passionate about their positions. There are places for that stuff but not on a good website such as this. X is more than happy to host any type of discourse.
As for some of the BS and out right lies I’ve read on here I just smile. Most of us know the culprits and chuckle when they chime in. Every forum has a few trolls. Any person that has spent any amount of time in the field sees past it quickly. Others might take a little time but eventually they get it.
I like reading the posts here. Like others I find it a bit dry in the off months. Some liven it up with some really wild and far fetched scenarios that keep you coming back to read more of the responses.
I know it is tough for the web guy. It is on us to be the gentlemen and ladies who use our best behavior and not have to be reprimanded like children. I have had heated conversations at times but I have always gone back and apologized (not on this site).
Let the trolls be trolls and the jesters be jesters. The rest of us can be the betters and smile.
I do have to say a few years back I reported a member for some really off color commentary which turned out to be a hacked member. The web guy was very quick about taking care of it. I certainly don’t envy him in his task but commend him for what he does.

I have had Goose on ignore status for about as long as I have been on this site. I
I put him in the ignored status shortly after he started posting!
