What do you use? What do you want?

I've got two shotguns I typically carry, my go-to gun for when there is killing that needs done is a Beretta Al391 Urika. Field version, walnut stock. A joy to carry, a joy to shoot. Bought it new in 2003 and have never looked back. I don't even glance at the shotgun racks of gunshops now.

When I'm feeling a bit for some nostalgia, for a classic, I grab my 1949 vintage Ithaca 37 Featherlite in 20 guage. It weighs next to nothing and I hit pretty good with it, even if it is a full choke. Carried it opening weekend last year and shot two roosters off of a point of my brother in laws shorthair and my own shorthair, as well as getting some helpful shots in a couple of others. Bought that gun off a guy that was working for me, he was just trying to get his money out of it as he bought it helping a buddy out. I refinished the stock, cleaned the internals up, and it functions flawlessly.

The lone shotgun I want is a nice lightweight, trim, quality side by side. Thinking I want a 16 guage. Double triggers required. In keeping with the 'bit strange and old school theme', thinking it needs fixed chokes as well. I've got rifles in .250 Savage, .257 Roberts, .300 H&H, and looking for a 7x57 Mauser, so I think a SxS 16 guage would fit right in.

If we did a list of wants in rifles, I could type all night on what I want, so we won't. :)

I shoot a model 12 16 gauge. It is great. I buy one gun a year. The next one is either going to be Keltec PMR 30 handgun or a Ithaca model 37 16gauge. My cousin has one and I have always admired it. My deer getter is a Remington 760 Gamemaster 270. My coyote getter is a mini 14 ranch rifle in a target model 223. The one that I carry in the pickup or tractor is a Marlin 922 magnum. It is for what ever I come across that needs attention, coyotes, skunks.

I have a Cz Red head 20ga o/u that is the first gun I ever bought, a Cz Ringneck SxS 28ga that is my favorite and grandpas Wingmaster 12ga 30" full choke that I took my first quail with.

I would like a English stocked, double trigger SxS .410 for quail hunting and maybe a 16ga SxS as well.

Rifles I would love a nice 270 not sure which make and model though a kimber would be nice.:D

1. Browning 625 Citori 12 ga.
2. Browning White Lightning Citori 12 ga.
3. Stoeger Condor II 12 ga.
4. Savage .22 Win. mag w/Tasco scope
5. Winchester Model 70 Sporter .30-06 w/Nikon scope
6. Colt Anaconda .44 mag

'Bout all I need.

Chessy, not sure what you want to spend on a "quality" SxS but the 16 ga. SxS that I've always dreamed about is the Merkel 1620. It's a 16 ga. built on a 20 ga. frame and is available in either single or double triggers, English or pistol grip stock and weighs about 6.1 lbs. Of course it's going to set you back about $4,500.

At one time Cooper was at the top of my list. Did the Obama back sink the ship?

Shoot a Benelli M-2, Beretta 391...........7-08 Remington mountain rifle.

Will check it out-not sure my budget, but I know the $500 sxs's at places like Academy or Dicks aren't what I'm after. As long as momma doesn't see this post, I think I'll be golden. :) Have looked at some of the Beretta 471's, AyA 4/53 at Cabelas, etc. I don't plan on shooting competitive clays with it, just field use and informal messing around, so about anything really would work.

I've got a Kimber in .308, maybe my favorite rifle. Thinking I need to add a Kimber Classic Select in .257 Roberts as well.

I've had a 257 Roberts since 1963 and can't remember how many deer/antelope/varmits have fallen to it. Even used it to take my once in a lifetime Custer State Park Elk. I've added other rifles over the years but the old Roberts is my go to rifle.

I shoot a Weatherby Orion Grade II in 20 GA. Really all I use for upland. My 12's are a Beretta Montefeltro and a Rem 1100. The Monte has been used upland, but is mainly my waterfowl gun. Ole mister 1100 has been relegated to the turkey hunt.

I would like a Fausti DEA 28 GA SxS with 28" barrels. $4000.....ouch!

js, don't you mean a Benelli Montefeltro???

Shotguns:
Browning Citori White Lightning 16 ga.
Browning A5 "Sweet Sixteen"
Benelli Montefeltro 12 ga.
Stoeger 2000 12 ga.
Savage 220A .410

Rifles:
Winchester Mod 70SM .270 Win
Winchester Mod 70SM .338 Win Mag
Winchester Mod 70A .222 Rem
Winchester Mod 9422

These guns are everything I need and more. But I would still like to buy a Browning BSS 20 ga.

8 or 9 years ago dad and I 'split' a Ruger 77 in .257 Roberts. We each liked it so well, we 'split' another so we each could have one. Its got enough oomph to do what we need, but doesn't beat you up like many of the heavier cartridges. I bought a 90% finished stock a few years ago to upgrade the wood on it, in those few years I've taken that to about a 92% finished stock. Stockmakers earn the big money they get.

I believe that my powder-burner collection is complete . . . no more "wants." Now I'm spending more & more time with airguns & there is a "want" . . . an FX Royale in either .22 or .25 caliber.

I really have to many to mention but I really like the looks of the caesar gurinee I know the spelling is off and they have taken over Fabraim again the spelling that is really a good looking gun, but that is from the picture of it in a shooting magazine. But right now I am not to sure how much more shooting I will be doing as I am having problems with my ears, the ear specialist said my right ear is dead, I have started a 10 day regiments of steroids hoping that will help, and my left year is like I have a head cold. Sorry to get off the subject guys. Time will tell.

i really only use two any more.

20 ga grulla 216rl and a 16 ga grade v ugartachea. i want for nothing else. well... maybe a two barrel set garbi.

Beretta 687 Silver Pigeon grade V. Had 28 inch barrels replaced w/ 32" & got double triggers installed by Coles gunshop. With the bottom barrel ( front trigger) choked IC & the top choked full, I can instantly shoot the tight choke for a long " anchor shot" if a hunting partner cripples a bird. Nothing better for putting an eye wipe on your friends. ;)

Zeb a Sweet 16 will be on my list soon. Is it what you thought it would be? Do you have any advice before I purchase one?

I have a few all for different purposes. Or so I tell the wife...

Zabala 28 SxS for Dove and Quail
Stevens 16 SxS for Pheasants
Beretta Extrema 12 for Ducks
and a couple old Winchesters that don't get used anymore...

I thinking about a nice O/U 20 but haven't decided what I need that for...

Xtrema 2 for birds and clays.
Tikka 30.06 and my compound bow for deer.

My uncle gave me an old Ithaca 37 12 ga, but I need to have the safety reversed. I will probably end up using it some next season, just for fun...

I don't have any serious wants for a rifle or shotgun, which is good because this will be an expensive year for home repairs. I guess if I was spending play money, I would try to find a quality old SxS with handsome wood and tasteful engraving. The ones I really like to look at cost more than my truck, so I doubt I will be owning one any time soon!

I've heard there is somebody around here who will help you make your own long or recurve bow and wooden arrows. That would be kind of cool, and probably closer to my price range whenever I get some free time.
