UPH Hunt

George - sorry you aren't attending, but understand the long drive and only an hours? worth of hunting. Guess I'll have to hold up the senior entry. Hope the young boy's can keep up...good luck with your field trials.

Yeah Jon, too much driving. 1,600 miles back from Arizona then to ND for a NSTRA trial this past weekend and heading back to ND for another trial on May 2-3. I better stay home this weekend. But the next time the group plans a hunt I would recommend that we do it at the Minnesota Heartland Preserve near Granite Falls. Much closer for me and probably not any further for you metro area guys. How about it Tbear???

Good suggestion, George. 114 miles to Granite F. from Minnetonka vs about 75 to Avon, Mn. Perhaps expand the number of birds placed, so the hunt is a bit longer in duration.

What time are all you 10am folks meeting tomorrow? I can be there are anytime.

Its not a big place by any means. Keith will get you pointed in the right direction. You just park in the front and walk on it. If you make it earlier you can always watch some of the other guys in the fields. That way you have something to make fun of them about once you meet them.

Two of us are leaving Minnetonka around 8 AM; see you around 9:30 or so.

Does anyone have any information about I494 being closed for the weekend??

Thanks,

Jon and Dean

There will be two lanes open northbound, during the day Saturday, and one lane south. Late Satdurday they reverse - two souothbound and one north.

Jon

511MN.org shows major road construction but no road closure on I494 through Plymouth. Maybe it won't be too bad on a Saturday morning. Or take I394 east to 169N to 694 then 94.

I-494 in both directions: Roadway reduced to two lanes. share
Between MN 55 (Plymouth) and I-94 (Maple Grove). The roadway is reduced to two lanes. Look out for construction work. Consider using an alternate route. Until September 30.

Comment: During A.M. peak - two lanes open southbound. During P.M. peak - two lanes open northbound. For more information on this project: Click Here

Hey I hope everyone had a great time on Saturday? The weather was perfect! Thanks Tbear for putting the event on. I still would like to spend some time with some of the other guys I met to get to know them a little bit more. By the way, how did everyone do in their hunts? I think our field had a few escapeee's in it because we ended up with 11 birds shot, one dead one found for a total of 12 birds and only 9 released. Now to wait till fall!

Yes I had a good time, nice meeting some new like-minded pheasant hunters. More important my dog enjoyed getting out and he did well. Thanks for setting up the hunt.

Glad everyone had an OK time. Wish the cover was better. Never wearing that go pro again. I look like a dork!
