how about a venue half way for everyone and a potluck sounds great I agree alot of good food has come from potlucks are we talking more of a 1 day event or a 2 day event with the finals bieng held on the second day
No whistles. If guys have whistles I won't come.
I like it moe, no voice or hand signals either. If the dogs can't hunt the whole field with no directions I'm out.![]()
why not we arent running the dogs at the same time or even in the same field i think your dogs would b fine
1st day- 2 fields
flushers without shock collars-
flushers with shock collars
pointers without shock collars-
pointers with shock collars
2nd day- top 4 in each class go head to head
noon on second day- top flusher without shock collar head to head with top pointer without shock collar
top flusher with shock collar head to head with top pointer with shock collar
think it'd be interesting and fun to see flusher and pointer head to head in a timed event, shots fired, retrieves, and then top in each class flusher vs pointer as in the finals
you really can't judge handling if shock collars are worn-
like that- I'd come- wouldn't care to come and run in a shock collar class
actually- some have pointers that will flush- some have flushers that will hold a bird- so- a flushing dog that stands a bird and a pointer that flushes- what group would those fit in
no whistles, no collars, no hand signals, etc. -- .
Aren't there plenty of field trials for people who love lots of formal rules? The original appeal of this thing for me was it would have minimal rules. Now people in the forum are wanting more and more rules for this thing -- no whistles, no collars, no hand signals, etc. -- everything I do while actually hunting. If it's going to be akin to a formal field trial, count me out. But if the emphasis is on fun and camaraderie with little regard for rules, I'm in and hereby volunteer for the bird cleaning committee.
Yes they were kidding,
Trust me it will be as simple as it gets. It will have very few rules, just enough to declare a winner. Your exactly right, if we want we can go to our respected trials. I am going to one this weekend, I am the chairman in fact. This is just for us to get together and have fun, and add bragging rights for a few. It is in no way to declare a dog a field champion or such.
But we have tried to have a uph hunt and that did not pan out. Too much land needed and where would we all hunt?. This way we will be able to show up at one place, see all the dogs and people and have a good time. At least the ones that show up. Once rules are up, a place is determined, the laws looked at, and a cost. We can see if there will be enough to chime in and say lets do it or not. If there is enough interest, we will go forward. If not, we will bury this thread.
PS happy to have you Kansas Boys handle the BBQ thing. It don't git better then KS.
