All but done. On the oil finish. Hand rubbed tru oil only. Here is 6 coats dry. All glass bedded. A few more coats, and time to shoot. Last couple photos are the 6th coat dry. 8 to go.

Now, take a business card-sized piece of paper and put your name, the date you did the stock, what you do for a living and what/where you hunt. Put it in the anchor hole in the stock and hundreds of year from now, future generations will marvel at your work.

(don't you wish such a card was in some of the old guns you have purchased? You just made some history, Sir.)

Not sure. I shot a ton with it this weekend, and never noticed a difference. Not this fall anyway. Maybe this winter.

Sorry I missed that LOL. I did a Kick Eez pad sand to fit. She still looks great after a bunch of field trials shot, 3 nationals, training twice a week, and hunting. A few dings. So I might sand her a bit and re oil after this years season. One last national Cocker to shoot, and some regular trials. I never did any checkering. I have 0 issue with grip, and I like the wood look not getting covered up by checkering. I was skeptical that it would be a "need", but it absolutely is not.
