Every raindrop helps!Wow, getting some good, unexpected rain. Hopefully it keeps the farmers out of the fields and from cutting grass. And it cooled off those chicks. Update .60 looks like we might get a little more.
1.20 here last night and this morning. Just hoping we escape emergency grazing. The next windy day we get where I can't go fishing, I am headed to either Barto's or Chicken Annies. What I said about June being historically our highest rainfall is coming true this year. Had 2.50" last night. It is really sloppy, which is good in this country, slows down the wheat harvest which was in progress(very early). In my area I would estimate about 50% cut.
This year's rain
May 4th 1.25"
May 20th 0.10" = 1.35"
June 2nd 1.60" = 2.95"
June 3rd 1.30" = 4.25"
June 9th 0.75" = 5.00"
June 18th 2.50" =7.50"
Pastures green and lush. CRP grass is soaked.
Good deal, but still not seeing any hatches. Turkey hens running around with no poults, makes me think the gobblers are duds. Hopefully, I will start seeing some chicks.
That's the latest from the Ponderosa. Praise the Lord for the moisture!
All the talk about the good eating in Frontenac, makes me want to make a road trip. After church on Sunday we would go to the Frontenac Bakery and get a hot loaf from his oven and have a pastrami sandwich. Oh, so good. And the aroma around town of that fresh bread.
I fished Wilson lake today and the quail for whistling more than the fish were biting.Been hearing a bunch of quail whistling in Chautauqua/Montgomery counties. Getting dry fast here, but we have had pretty good moisture until a month or so ago.
That is what we need up stream from Cedar Bluff. The lake is ridiculously low.Harper county was in flash flood Saturday night/sunday morning.. water standing everywhere, looks like it came fast

Praise the Lord, your rain dance is dynamic. Please feed the pheasants. I will pay you a visit this year if you don't mind my friend. On June 30th had a downpour 3.75"
Brings year to date to 11.25"
Last time I remember this pond going over the spillway was 30 years ago.
