New Browning A5 in 16 ga.

Sweet

Sports afield article said that the sweet 16 would arrive during the summer . Being a real 16 ga fan for pheasants, thinking I NEED one! Anyone seen them out yet???

A5 Sweet 16

I called Browning rep out in Utah two weeks ago, and she said end of
October. She didn't hesitate with her answer, and seemed confident. All the other reps that I called were men, and all gave different months and dates. So who are you going to believe?

The gal's name at Browning wasn't Hillary, was it? :D

Seriously, has anyone gotten any recent reports from their dealer?

A5

Matt from Joel Etchen told
Me last week that its
Pushed back to end of january or into feb. wont get to use it this season. Wanted to try kent bismuth in it but wont get the chance.

Just talked to my dealer and he still says the latest they have heard is October. BUT, he also said Browning is great for not getting new guns out until after the hunting season. So who knows. Guess they will get here when they get here! :)

A5 release

He also said the 28" would be released first. I ordered the 26", so not counting on it for 2016. I'm going out the week before xmas for the third time this fall to finish up the season. There might be a slim chance to carry it then. Im gonna buy some Kent Bismuth now just in case it comes. I hunt quite a few wpas that last week I'm out there. Plan to throw in some ice fishing on Bitter lake, too.

This really sucks the big one! Thought we would have them in hand by now. I'm almost starting to lose interest. Might as well keep my '60 Sweet and keep using it. After all, I love that gun.

Wait

Well, I was a bonehead and sold mine when I just had it worked on. I got no chioce but to wait. Waiting gets tougher when you're 60. You never know how much longer you got to hunt, and how many dogs
you got left in you.

Wait till you 70 like I am and loose your best friend (hunting dog and family companion) like we did earlier this year. Heart breaking to say the least. We thought no more dogs.

Well 5 months have past and we have a deposit down on an other Golden Retriever pup. As long as my health holds out, I am not ready to give up grouse and pheasant hunting and we miss having a family companion.

Life is short, but never stop living for tomorrow! ;)

Hey Mark, I turned 70 in April. Not sure need a new shotgun when my years on the field might me numbered. My dog will be 8 in November so there's a question If there is another dog in my future. This getting old sucks.

70

One more gun,one more dog. No problem. New A5 5.75lbs will carry like a dream, and get a close hunting pup. Many seasons left.

Golden...good choice! From what breeder, if I may ask?
Lee Ann & David Heldt, Hunter's Goldstrike Golden Retrievers in Winsor, Colorado.

This will be our third Golden. We couldn't ask for nicer dogs all-around dogs.

Cody was our first. Lost him one week shy of being 15 years old and the Rusty, who we recently lost was only 8 years old when cancer struck. Neither came from notable hunting blood lines or backgrounds but were self starters and with a little training and lots of encouragement, became proficient flushers and retrievers. They may not have won any field trials, but they were OUR champions.

To everyone, sorry for getting off the main thread topic, but just had expand a little.

Golden

My last dog was a golden. Lost here to cancer at 8 years. I agree, hard to match that personality. If I was younger and could still run with a shotgun I'da bought another one. When you're old and slow, for me, a pointer was the right choice.

Ha

Funny how guns and dogs kinda go together. Last word from Browning last week was beginning of October for both barrel lengths. Wait and see i guess.

swamp collies all of them (said the proud small munsterlander owner) I thought the new A5-16ga was due to be out by now?
