E collar

dogtra.......some people on here have had mixed results, my 2 dog model has performed flawlessly for 3-4 years, threw my TT in the trash, literally.

The best two collars are Tritronics and Dogtra. They both have many models to suit anybody. This opinion is shared by almost all of the veteran birddog guys I hunt with.

Buy right and buy once.

Agreed.

Both of my SportDogs are working fine, however you couldn't give me another TriTronics or DT. I figured when I had to replace the 2nd high-end e-collar I'd go less expensive, since that appeared to be the norm in my case. So far it's been working for me. I guess "you pays your money & you takes your chance."

My Dogtras have been the best. D.T. Systems worst.

I have had Dogtras for years with no problems. A little better quality, IMO, then sportdog and some others. Of course I only have to use it 1-2 times a season:)

My Dogtra collars have been back to the manufacturer twice and both times got full replacement. I need to buy a 2 dog beeper collar now, and I will probably go with dogtra again since they stood behind their product. Also, the Tri Tronics beepers do not have rechargeable batteries so that turned me away from them.

I had two D.T's years ago until they just quit. I also had another one that I can't remember the name of. It was a piece of crap.
I bought TriTronics 8 years ago and haven't had any trouble with either a receiver or transmitter. I know have enought collars for four dogs so if they were bad you would think I would have had some issues! I did have some trouble with the beepers but I don't use them anymore since I got the Astro. The beepers were the old style, not the new G3's.
I haven't used SportDog or Dogtra but won't be switching anytime soon. The one feature that I wish TT had would be the vibration mode on the collar. My oldest shorthair is starting to lose her hearing and I don't think she always hears the tone.

If anyone has any TT they want to throw away just let me know and I will pay shipping to my house!!;)
