Dream hunt

I really like Quail hunting, the dog work is the key for me.
But a MT, Sharptail, Hun and Sage Grouse hunt is tough to beat.

The duck hunt because I have never duck hunted before.

AR ducks look very fun in the timber. However, wild bobwhite quail before there gone would probably win out!

BritChaser,

Try the Kansas river, I have friends that just slaughter them on that river. Especially when the lakes freeze up like last week. They put in at Eudora and go down river about a 1/2 mile.

Guys, guys, guys. This is a pheasant hunting forum! We are supposed to say the pheasant hunt! I for one never get enough of hunting those beautiful roosters. I used to hunt in Nebraska, back when there were quail. I used to tell my brother, leave the quail alone we are hunting pheasants. He still mocks me for those statements. I don't care for the taste of ducks so my choice would be the pheasant hunt. Are you paying? Call me up lets go!

Phez!!!!

Saved by the voice of reason. :D

Pheasants in SD is on my bucket list. As much as I like hunting quail I love the midwest and northern prairies where I find the roosters.

Very ture I'd love to go to MT

Well, I live here with the pheasant , grouse and huns. Today is near 0 with winds over 30 mph and still snowing. I have been told by friends, "i am living the dream", I think i dreamed too long and woke up in a frozen Hell...LOL, in all seriousness,, it is nice here in Big Sky, well, most of the time that is.

Being I have lived in SD for the past 61 years I would prefer one of the other options. Both are on the bucket list and I honestly can't choose between them. The Pudelpointers could handle either.

I would choose the quail ONLY if they were 100 percent wild. I wouldn't mind sitting on the porch of an old plantation house and having a sweet tea, even though I don't like tea.

My wifes family is in Louisiana, I was lucky enough to get a Plantation hunt for a christmas gift It was a blast.

I would probably opt for the South Dakota hunt, but I would also like to hunt waterfowl in Canada once. I've seen a couple videos and TV shows on waterfowl hunting in Canada. Looks pretty exciting!

I grew up hunting ducks on the wooded slews in central texas. They drained them all and planted the wonder grass; coastal bermuda. That stuff took over and now there are no slews or quail. Ain't progress a bitch:mad:

Same here. I know that I will go to South Dakota and beyond someday soon but I have never duck hunted other than jump shooting off of some ponds. An Arkansas duck hunt is where I would learn something new and broaden my wingshooting experience the most and it would give me a chance to buy a new shotgun. It would not be proper to shoot ducks with the same gun I have shot pheasants.

Why would'nt it be proper
