Dream hunt

I second what Quail Hound said - quail, if they are wild and in good numbers. Mind you, wild bobwhites fly like they're shot out of a cannon. They make pheasants seem easy. But it is hard to beat the beauty (and size) of a rooster ringneck.

South Dakota

South Dakota would win it easy in my make believe world. Actually I'm making it a reality this year! One week in ND, one week in SD, and one week to recover from my rooster induced cognative overload! To prepare I just ordered up a new Browning Superlight Feather in 16 ga. Should be here before the last day of quail season for a range and then field test!

Ive never seen a bobwhite so that would be a treat but i also have never experienced the flush of sd pheasant hunt. So being the absolute biggest pheasant phreak in the milky way id have to say rudys in south D!

gambel quail

some of my most phun hunts for quail were years ago for gambel quail. we were hunting the san carlos in ariz. had a blast, some days the numbers were way over a 1000 birds and most all running, flushes were usually singles but we got lots of shooting and even hit some with the ol' 14 ga. hard to see them fall through the smoke sometimes though. would like to return
