We got out for the first time in Wi Thursday night for a couple hours, heading to a private piece we seen a new chunk of public, or at least we never seen it before, we took a short walk to check it out and my son shot 2 roosters in 20 minutes, we ended up at the private with 30-45 minutes left...

I had a Garmin Alpha, Sport Dog TEK 2.0 (junk) and now running a Pro 550 plus, I really like the ease of the 550 plus, but if you’re into the miles logged etc. then the alpha is the way to go, if you just want e-collar and gps piece of mind I’m not sure there’s a simpler unit.

We just hunted out of their guest house, sunflower and corn were mostly still up. We finished with 37 birds, 14 were sharpies and 3 huns. Weather was warmer and dry, always cleaned the birds early so we never really got any good pictures. Dogs feet took a beating in the dry stubble and cactus

If they are landing in your spread 4's might work, head and neck shots. I normally use 2's or BB in steel. As far as the choke goes if they pattern like the 5's you'd probably get by with an IC and if they are out a little maybe go mod but best to shoot one on paper. Good luck and let us know...

I picked up my new cordoba a few weeks ago and haven't had a chance to pattern it yet, does anyone know if the chokes on a back bored gun are pattern differently, like is a LM more like skeet in a standard barrel?

After much research and holding both guns side by side I really liked the Cordoba, it has the same lop, drop at heel and comb as the sbe2 so I went all in and ordered a Performance Shop Cordoba being they were on sale, can't wait for it to get home!

There are several game farms around, one with a WPA or state land on the other side of the fence, obviously that land is going to have pen birds on it and about every less than serious pheasant hunter goes there and pounds that area. I know they are there but I avoid the obvious and the weekend...

We hear pheasants all over in the spring while turkey hunting, wouldn't think anyone would be stocking birds when you can't hunt them. Based on that I assumed we are hunting naturally occurring birds, I do always look at the tails and beaks, also seems these birds we shoot are a bit bigger...

I guess I don't know what you're looking for?? I always look to see if there were blinders clipped on at any point and jankie a$$ tail feathers that are all beat up like game farm birds, don't know what else to look for. I'll post a picture of the one I shot tonight
