Happened about ten years ago in Iowa.Just finished hunting and was loading the birds in the truck when one, obviously not quite dead, just exploded out of the vest trying to fly. My son and I looked pretty foolish scurrying trying to grab this bird as he runs in to the culvert across the road. We looked at each other dumb-founded wondering how we are going to get this bird out. I had both dogs on point at one end of the culvert, then my younger one disappeared. As she crawled in, my older one ran to the other end. I'm panicking thinking my dog is going to get stuck and I'll have to call someone to dig this thing out. What seemed like an eternity, but probably only a minute, was the time it took for my dog to emerge from the culvert with the bird in mouth. Nothing better than a happy ending! God bless you, Angel!
