UPH retrieving challange

If we make this happen I am bringing a very well bred weiner dog pup that retrieves like a machine. I believe his owner is going to have me FF him after he matures a bit more. If the grass is over 8" can I hold him up so he can see the marks?

Steve
PS I am serious

Sounds like a blast. At the end of our club training sessions, we have everybody throw a buck into a pot. We do one retrieve, approximately 75 yards, nothing hard. The dog that makes the retrieve and returns to hand the fastest wins the pot. Exciting way to end the day!

I am in! Sounds like fun and I am sure a few bragging rights to follow. Keep us posted on potential dates. If the weekend is free I can travel pretty much anywhere in MN if that is the state we want to start in. But we better be careful, this is how hunt tests and organizations start!

Gatzby, We do have world class local geese here.
The duck hunting for lots of reasons has all but disappeared, not for lack of water. Just not much nesting success.
There will be no charge for the land.
Or for camping. I'll get a porta potty at the site.

I grew up on a potatoe farm so I feel at home when I get a chance to visit the Park Rapids area. How far is to Fargo from your place?

Sorry guys, Gatz or zeb you or someone else will have to figure it out. Just got some bad family news. Dealing with round two fight with that jerk cancer and me wife. So this will be on instant back seat. Sorry. if you get it figured out I will hopefully still be able to come. Take care.

That just plain sucks! I wish you the best of luck and I will keep you both in my prayers.

Why doesn't everyone that's interested in the Challange PM me include # of dogs and breeds. Also include your email, where you live, and preferd month (June - September). In a few weeks I will gauge interest and try to pick the best location and month. Than we just have to pick the weekend, find a location, and determine rules!!!!

Steve

At Fargo you get on 94, go East 5 miles or so after getting into MN, then go N at the Sabin exit to US # 10. East to Detriot Lakes. North on 59 for about 2 blocks. MN #34 East will take you out of the farm stuff into the woods and lakes. Park Rapids is about 80 miles from Moorhead. I'm just about 10 miles SE of Park Rapids.
By the way Park Rapids is the gateway to Itasca State Park. They say the #1 state Park visited anywhere. 25 miles North or so, The largest stand of Red Pine and Native old growth Eastern White Pine anywhere. And the source of the Mighty Mississippi.
Take a swim, wade, Here the Mississippi is nothing but a clear free flowing brook.
And you can even drink the water.
Beer might be abetter choice.

No pros here:thumbsup:. I am not sure there is a pro on UPH, well I know one just turned pro. But he wont make it I'm sure. Maybe somewhere far sth MN SD to be central more for the majority that show interest. I guess first thing is how many from where, then when. I will look up my events and get back what would be my earliest weekend. Then after that stuff, I am pretty much open on weekends. The field should have some cover that's similar through out. So someone does not have to do one from a bounce in to thick green canary grass, while others are in light switch. Even a light brome would work so we can see them too. Not sure what cover will look like in some areas this spring. Plenty of time yet. I know my last trial I am judging in is May 10th, 11th in ND. But there is some hunt tests after those.

We had a PRO, remember SHADOW.:D:D:D
