Wiha sign posts

Not to suggest that anyone is using the WIHA atlas incorrectly, but mistakes are easy to make with the new atlas because it divides the state into same-size rectangles wihout regard to county lines. It's easy to make mistakes trying to count section lines from one map to another. In the pheasant range, the county seat is often the only clear geographic point from which to navigate using the atlas. The old atlases were county by county. About the only way to avoid navigation mistakes is to get out the scissors and tape and make yourself county maps of where you hunt.

so if land was walk in last year it would have signs saying this is no longer walk in land? theres some walk in i huinted last year but no signs this year so i didnt hunt it?

No, if a plot was enrolled for the 2010 season and not in the 2011 season they are not required nor do they put signs up stating its no longer enrolled.

The no longer enrolled signs only come into play if its a late unenrollment from the 2011 (or whataver is the current year map) map after the maps went to print.

Heres the additions/subtractions for 2011 after the map went to print.

Its your responsibility to know how to read a map and be at the right place, and the KDWPT's responsibility to insure the map was drawn correctly with right plots and the signage is up.

only a pointer... you do know they put out a new atlas every year, right? Enrollments change every year... which is why they publish a new atlas.

Did you seriously not know this? I'm sorry, but I find this hilarious!

I hunt a WIHA if its on the map and its not on the add/removed list whether there are no signs or not. I ran into a field that was missing all but the two signs on the back side of the quarter. I triple checked the map and the website before i hunted it. I have to be honest i was a little leary hunting it not knowing for sure but its enrolled again this year. The only thing that really deters me from hunting a field is if there are standing crops, but I haven't ran into that on a WIHA yet. Cattle don't bother me, I've hunted around cattle enough to know I'm smarter than a cow.

I wish I'd thought of that! :10sign:plausible deniability, Dig out those 2009 maps and have at it! By the way Nebraska, North Dakota, Colorado, just to mention a few publish new maps every year too! Changes why worry!

I prefer the new maps for this reason. I tape them together and mount them on poster board. Gives me a place to make notes also. This year I went west with a map of clay center all the way to atwood.

I wouldn't say a 13 point loss is exactly getting their ass handed to them. Our receivers couldn't catch the ball to save themselves. The big 12 was 6-2 which isn't too bad. Kstate will be preseason top 10 for sure top 15 next year as we aren't losing anybody and have the best junior college reciever in coming in as well as Locket back. Losing our best receiver and kick returner didn't do us any favors.

Yep... losing by less than two scores is a real ass beating buddy  Especially considering the once ranked #1 team got beat by three scores. At least I can stick with one team, win or lose, instead of being whored out to an entire conference.

By the way, the Big XII took #1 in the computer rank again this year. I believe that makes it the third year in a row. You can keep your AP #1 rank; the computer doesn't take into account elitist conference fanboyism, only pure stats. :)

Hey fellas, I doubt you all really want to hear from a Sooner fan, but then again, texass tech beat our hineys, so I have no room to talk. But this might help some of the new guys in not walkin' where they shouldn't be walkin'....I have just used the maps as a reference, and use the GPS coordinates to actually find the spot. If I get there and there is no sign, no big deal, I'll move on. Driving another 2 - 40 miles isn't that big of a deal considering I drove 300 to 400 miles to get there in the first place. Also, it has been my experience, a little pre-hunt scouting is not just looking for birds..wink wink. :D

Not sure how solid the information but one WIHA was indeed stripped of signs and got the personal ire raised of a state fella. Seems NT signs and purple tires were were proudly displayed in the wrong baliwick.
Now, some camera surveillance is said to be in the works...there and elsewhere where complaints were noted.
May be all bluff, may not.
Some locals may find themselves feeling cursed.

Good. Cheaters should get what's coming to them.
