What Great People! and PF Banquet

I have followed a number of Forums over the years and now find myself only reading this one! The discussions are great and for the most part everyone is civil to each other and respect the fact that others have opinions that differ. One of the things that keeps me coming back is how many people from Colorado participate in this forum. It truly is a treasure of information and a place where someone who cares about bird hunting can find like minded people.

I have also had the pleasure of hunting with and talking to a number of people from the forum. The hunting has always been great and it is nice to share a field with a new friend. I am looking forward to the next field!

I wanted to start the conversation about the PF banquet on March 26, 2011. Hopefully we can get a good group together to support this great event and I would enjoy meeting more people in person that I converse with online.

Shoot Straight!

I will definitely plan on being there.
On a side note, my girlfriend and I had the good fortune of hunting with IWGWP on some of his private land yesterday. We had a great time and popped quite a few birds. His dogs are fine tuned machines!! Thanks!!!

I went to the PF banquet that was held at the Marriott on the south side of Denver this year and we had a good time, although I didn't win anythng really, still had a good time.

I don't think there will be one down here in the springs so I hope to get some information on the one in Denver area.

Below is the email I got from the Denver PF Chapter on the Banquet. It is at the same place as last year.

The 2011 banquet is scheduled for March 26, 2011 at the Denver Marriott South Hotel on I-25 and Lincoln. We will be sending out registration forms in the mail around the middle of January so please keep an eye out for the banquet registration flier. We have also posted a registration form on the MDPF.org website that you can print out and send in.
If you pre-register for the banquet by March 21, 2011, you will automatically be included in a free drawing to win a Ruger LCR .38 caliber pistol. We will also have a bottomless beer cup and membership drawing for a Stoeger 20 Ga. O/U shotgun when you renew your membership with your banquet registration.
This year’s Signature Gun Raffle is a Beretta 686 White Onyx, 12 Ga. O/U shotgun retailing at $1900.00. Tickets are $10 each and you can purchase tickets when you register for the banquet or from our many chapter volunteers.

I agree! This is a great site and great people contribute.

And yes, this is also a great time to start plugging the PF banquets. If everyone on here is as avid about pheasants and pheasant hunting as it sounds, everyone should be going to these banquets and contributing to the cause. A lot of the switchgrass and shelterbelts you see out east have been planted with the assistance from PF. They've done so much to improve our bird population; we have to give back.

PF will have a booth again this year at The Sportman's Exposition. You should be able to get information there on the Denver, Northern CO, Greeley, and Pike's Peak (Colorado Springs) banquets. One of those should work for most of us. As previously mentioned, the Denver banquet is towards the end of March, and I know the Northern CO banquet is on March 5th. I'm not sure about the other two. I know the many of the banquets out east have already taken place. So save the dates, bring your checkbooks, and have fun telling lies to fellow hunters about how many birds you shot this year.

I was at the Castle Rock banquet about seven or eight years ago and finally after thirty years of DU,QU, PF, NWTF banquets won something more than a box of shotgun shells and a styrofoam pop cooler. From that banquet I packed away a Browning A Bolt 300RUM. Thanks Castle Rock!

Thanks for your support of PF.

I was lucky - I took my wife to the PF Banquet in Denver last year and she won a Beneli Nova. It is too big for her but is a nice gun. We both had a lot of fun and met some great people. I was not part of this forum last year but joined just after the banquet and read about people meeting there. I look forward to meeting up with all of you this year!

Why do they hold the International Sportsman Expo in Denver (6, 7, 8, 9 January 2011) while it is still upland and waterfowl hunting seasons??

It used to be at the end of January....now it is the weekend right after New Years...interfere's with pheasant hunting and waterfowl if you asked me.

Congratulations on the gun win. My win came after all those winless years, when I took my wife for the first time. Lady Luck, I guess.
