What are your must-visit spots when traveling for pheasant season?

I hope this post finds everyone well. I know we all--hunters and pooches alike--are dusting off the cobwebs and getting in shape for pheasant season. With the season just right around the corner, I am working with Pheasants Forever's on an online piece regarding the "Must-Sees Across Pheasant Country." So in the states of SD, ND, MT, MN, IA, KS, CO and NE; what are/is your favorite place(s) to visit when the dogs have been kenneled and the guns put up? It could be a historic national monument, or maybe a diner that serves an amazing plate of biscuits and gravy, or perhaps something as simple as a minor league ballpark where the tickets and beer are actually affordable and the team isn't half bad, either.

Feel free to share your thoughts here or PM me. Thank you for any input and good luck this season, everyone!

The worlds largest Prairie Chicken in MN. The worlds largest ball of twine in KS. All of the toll booths in Chicago.

Fur harvestors museum Chadron Nebraska, Terry Redlin museum Watertown SD, Sheyenne Natl Grasslands ND.

X-10 the Redlin museum worth going a day early or staying a day extra--at least make time for if possible--

Though far on the other end of cultural spectrum--no one has mentioned that snake pit in Mitchel--And I don't mean the Corn Palace

I dont typically sight see when Im on a hunting trip, but I do eat.

Cattlemens Club in Pierre or Mitchell is outstanding.

For a mom and pop diner in Iowa, you absolutely cannot beat The Family Diner in downtown Spirit Lake. Matts 6"10 tall and feeds everyone like he wants to be fed.

Southwest Mn, steak house... Bergin Mn, (p.s. get there early, and dont be in a hurry, its worth the wait)

+1 for Cattleman's in Pierre. That is a must visit.

I also like to stop at Cabela's in Mitchell. I have a Cabelas not real far from home, but it's just "different" stopping at that one. And I always get myself something I wouldn't normally buy as kind of a souvenir to remember the trip. Got a vacuum sealer last time out there.

Meridy's in Russell.

I agree on both the Cattleman's in Pierre, and the original Cabelas. I always see lots of orange in that store. Also lots of grass for the dogs to take care of their business.

I grew up in Mitchell, but do not hunt out of there much. Cabela's on the Friday before opener does have a lot of excitement in the air. The Cattleman's Club is great in Pierre or Mitchell, but if you can afford it try Chef Louie's in Mitchell too. Just north of Cabela's. Oahe Dam at Pierre. Chamberlain rest stop also noteworthy and quick.

Kones Korner in Castlewood, SD. They still pump your gas for you. Henry Steakhouse in Henry, SD.
