I do get cold feet easily and I don't hunt anything in the summer months, so I have no use for uninsulated hunting boots. Even in early season I do not notice my feet being hot in 400 gram boots. In the summer I wear a shorter "hiking" looking uninsulated shoe/boot. I don't wear too much outer wear in cold weather, but warm boots and gloves are required for me.

Right? I've never had cold feet, but they've never been hot in 400g boots either. Why fix what ain't broke? I got a deal I couldn't pass up on the uninsulated ones though, so I'll give them a whirl.

I wear insulated boots in the summer and as often uninsulated in the winter. It doesn’t really seem to matter my feet don’t sweat much.
But yesterday I wore a pair of socks and keen sandals all day and went home with trench foot. Go figure

My family tries to prevent me from wearing Keen sandals with socks, but not because of trench foot. They apparently think it's not a very fashionable look. But oh, the comfort!!

My take on this is that once you attain a certain age you have "earned" the wearing socks with sandals look. I assume I am of such age also. My wife gives me heck about it.

Im a believer in merino wool socks. Warm in the winter and cool a couple days ago when i killed a turkey in the uninsulated boots i pheasant hunt with in december.
Most of my boots are uninsulated but I have found the right socks make every boot more comfortable. If it's below 20* and I hunt all day in cotton socks my feet will get cold when traveling between spots or we quit for the day. If I wear a good pair of wool blend socks that doesn't happen.

These Red Head tactical boots are my next try. Water proof and pretty tall, comfortable on my trip to Scheels today. $115. It will be interesting how the toe holds up in the grass. If I can’t get two yrs outta them I’m jumping in with both feet to the good stuff. I know I know but $400 for a pair of boots? I’m still trying to get over $4 McDoubles

I'm a big believer in you get what you pair for out of a pair of boots. For my heavy mileage boots, I'll splurge on a spendy pair. That's not to say I don't have cheaper pays around as shit kickers though. I have goofy feet and have tried alot of different boots and for whatever reason, my Crispi's seem to be extremely comfortable compared to any other boot I've tried. Not sure if it's due to the price (meaning a hopefully better quality) or they just make a boot that agrees with my feet.
