Anybody shoot league Trap?

If so, what ya using for a Trap gun?

Holy smokes, don't tell me we only have two people who shoot trap on here.

Went to our local range a few years ago and the old trap guys were very rude to us as new comers. Went over to the skeet and those guys welcomed us to shoot a round with them and were much more friendly, helpful and laid back. Never shot trap again.

Good Fun

Yes, I shoot a Browning Citori Plus Trap gun. It is a lot of fun with good people, both men and women. Being on the Canadian border, we also have a number of Canadian shooters as well.

Lock and Load! :D

I shot this Beretta Onyx pro 12ga O/U for much of last year. Looking to possibly go to a dedicated trap gun if i can sell a few other guns.

Would help if I posted the pic

Just picked up a full set of Carlson extended chokes for it yesterday. 6 brand new chokes for $50.00 and a few 100 rounds of 223 brass. They would have cost $240 from Carlson. I call that a steal of a deal from my bud who owns the gun shop.

I bought it on a online auction site as a new 3" gun. When I got it, low and behold it was a 3.5" gun. I had wanted a 3.5" Beretta for a long time but everyone I found was beat to heck from being in a duck boat/blind and not taken care of. Kind of got lucky on this one. I have two 3.5" O/U's and might sell it. I'm getting more into trap as I get more crippled up. Had a lot of fun last year. Lots of good folks at our gun club. Thinking of getting a more dedicated trap gun. Who knows, might just shoot this one too.

I shoot in a Summer trap league, but just to keep me tuned up for hunting season. I won my class two years ago, but my best score was 49/50. I haven't had a perfect score yet.:( I almost did it this year, as I had gone 47/47, but then I started thinking about how I might get a perfect score and missed the next two before hitting my last target... 48/50 that day. Still an awesome score for a guy like me.:D

I think it's 100% mental though. If you are focused and have a positive attitude, you will shoot a great score. If you are not "feeling it" that day and are dreading going to shoot your league, you will shoot terribly.

I shoot my hunting shotgun. Beretta Extrema 2 in Max 4 camo. I've had enough guys roll their eyes at me when I pull my gun off the rack that it brings me great joy to outscore guys with trap guns.:D

Trap is boring and also too serious. I wish we had a sporting clays course in Manhattan. I have to drive to Auburn or Silver Lake if I want to shoot sporting clays, but it is 100X more fun.

Trap feels like going to the driving range, and sporting clays is like playing a round of golf. My .02:thumbsup:

I use an 870 wingmaster field gun for singles and handicap trap,

The stock is lengthened to fit me.

I tried a few different guns designed for trap, but found after giving them an honest trial that the 870 field gun and I just get along too good to think I should be using a real trap gun.

I really been contemplating buying a new Ithaca 37T trap gun. I can't find one anywhere or find a price on one. If they are too expensive. I'll void it from any plans. It's really the only gun from yester year that's still made with hand fitted machined parts from real craftsman.

We have both sporting clays and trap ranges. Sporting clays is "Way" more expensive to shoot and I found the folks more snooty there then my local trap club. I'm sure it's just the crowd of the day. You get those who are so serous and competitive, that it's unreal. They flip at any noise, interruption or if they miss. They are sure to blame someone or something else because nobody as perfect as them could miss all on their own. I tend to just make screwing with them my mission of the day. Hopefully they get off their high horse and start to enjoy their days at the rang instead of making just another must out perform everybody notch on their life.
