Topic to stir it up some

Which ever you want that works for you! It is America, well I haven't checked today.

I enjoy watching all bird dogs work. There are more bad owners then bad bird dogs....

OK, the gloves need to come off:D

If you are in a place where the bird numbers are high and its like shooting fish in a barrel, a flushing dog might be OK.

But for real hunting where you are actually having to hunt for birds, the pointing dog is the choice of the knowledgeable hunter :p

BTW - You are not allowed to hunt quail in these parts with a flushing dog, its simply not done.

Spaulding H.

;)

That is borderline legal, with the Brit involved.

Sacrilidge! Illegal! Plus, dogs gotta have tails in Kansas:) Oh yeah, be a man, put some hair on them:)

Leave the pointers for the planted phez "hunting". Flushing breeds rock (if you actually want to see some birds). Last year in SD we left the pointers in the kennel so that we could actually flush some birds (with no dog). Just my 2 cents...

dog type

well, most labs are too fat to run and if one could keep up with a britt, doesn't speak too well about the britt. unless like most britts, ya can't teach em' much of anything asnyway, especially to retrieve. so I suppose that if and if should they ever find a bird to point it might be handy to have a lab around when ever and if ever it caught up to go and fetch the bird, if in fact the bird was unlucky enough to get hit in the first place, if that's the case, maybe I could see your point. so far, all the comments have come from guy's that have in their possession dogs of one type or other that have way too much hair on them anyway so they couldn't possible know what they are talking about. even the clown that owns shadow oak bo knew enough to try and copy a great dog and shaved him. so, there ya have it folks. bored and having nothing to hunt gets you this far. what ever happened to that guy from gove anyway?

cheers

Your right Troy, I must be getting soft.

The proper bird dog has a long tail and preferably long hair on that tail.

Heck any dog can run in and flush a bird, it takes brains and talent to point and hold them :p

;):D

Oh ! Oh! Steve... you've opened up a very sensitive can of worms.:D

Let the pointer vs flusher debate begin.

This topic has been beat to death on here before. Please keep it civil. Or it will be locked down tight. have fun but no name calling please. Have at R lol

Not only is an English Pointer superior to a flushing dog in the pursuit of upland birds but, it is also is superior to all other pointers...................

:10sign::D

Don't ask me?

dogs

pretty good pic. those poor ol' dogs look as worn out as that ol' gun leaning in the back ground. looks like it has been used before.

cheers

moving

besides a few rain drops, and once in awhile a game bird brood spotted, we need something to talk about and pick on, don't think anybody has their tongue in the wrong place unless it is those guys with the setters

cheers

Another pic.:)
Star will be 5 by fall, she is nonstop.
Woody the Britt just a bit over 1 year old in the pics, sure loves His job.
