The best taste.

I'm a "kill it, eat it type guy to on game birds and the whole bird at that.
Dove, I just take the breast, good eating I think.
Wild Mallard done correctly is hands down my favorite.
Goose, that's why I kill only 3-4 a year, I roast the whole bird with dressing. Dressing is great.
I make it eatable, sure glad I don't fill a freezer full of geese a year.

I eat a lot of Pheasant, I need to try some new recipes.

Try pheasant fajitas or pheasant enchiladas for a neat change of pace. My wife who doesn't like much wild game at all, actually asks for these.

Pheasant and Mallard are my favourite. Love woodcock, but rarely get more than a snack from them. Grouse is nice (ruffed) but tends to be dry. Can't speak for quail. Goose is lower on the list for me. Snowshoe hare - bottom of the feezer!

We had a Christmas party at work last night. I brought some pheasant cooked a couple different ways. I am no Goldeneye:D, but it was gone before anything else was. People were pissed that I didn't bring more. If you go through the trouble of brining and marinating, any one of those meats can be very tasty. I agree that wild mallard can be great when handled correctly. Not a big goose fan, but it does make decent jerky.

Pheasant tortilla soup is a hit at our house.

Recipe time. :)

That's a great way to get people on board with the hunting world. I do the same thing as often as I can. At least in this area, with the big city just around the corner, hunting is overwhelmingly frowned upon. Though I can honestly say the tide seems to be shifting in our direction more and more for multiple reasons.

I suppose one way to get folks on board is through their stomachs:thumbsup:

I sure hope he's kidding to..what a waste of game

WTF your kidding right. oap wow I shure hope so.

No whats wrong with that ? Its not like i shoot them and let them lay lol Ive got plenty of people that i give them away to. I hate that stuff i eat out for breakfast lunch and dinner if my girlfriend cooks me dinner im pissed you guys act like you hunt like daniel boone days or something kill a buffaloe for its hyde for a winter coat lol i mean cmon

1. Quail 2. Blue grouse 3. Pheasant 4. Duck 5. Geese
I unusually make jerky out of a lot of the geese I shoot. Anybody on here an avid blue grouse hunter?

I am a duck guy. I don't hunt them however. I got no problem if a guy gives away the birds he shoots. As long as they get used I don't care who's mouth they go in.

Out of all the wild game I have eaten the quail ranks number 1. Matter of fact, it's in the top 5 of my favorite foods.
