This has probally been discussed before, but what shotguns do you guy and gals like to shoot, and at what flying critters do you use them. We just got my youngest his first adult gun,870 super mag,he likes to shoot ducks also.Just wondering what guns that you guys perfered. My oldest once to get a Stoger m2000,but I'm not so sure about them.If anyone has any experience with them or anyother lower priced autoloader, please let me know.

I've had a Stoeger 2000 for several years and never had a problem with it. I also have a Benelli Montefeltro 12 ga. and I can switch back and forth between guns and really can't tell any difference. My step-son has also had a Stoeger 2000 for several years with no issues.

I use the Stoeger for pheasants and turkeys. The Monte mainly for upland birds. I also have a Citori White Lightning 16 ga. that has become my main pheasant and grouse gun.

Double 12s

I shoot o/u 12s. I like having different chokes for the first and second shots and sometimes different loads in each barrel. If we flush quail it's very easy to break the gun, take out the pheasant loads and slip in quail loads. Very safe too as there is never any doubt as to whether it's loaded.

I primarily shoot O/U's but also own several pumps and auto's.

I use a SP10 Remington auto for geese

I use a 3.5" Browning Cynergy O/U for ducks(shot plenty of geese with it also).

I use a Weatherby Athena 12ga O/U for some of my Pheasant hunting

I have several choices in O/U's for Grouse, Woodcock and some other game(Pheasants) in 20, 28 and 410

I swing a model 12 pump from time to time in 12 or 16

I swing a A5 Browning in 20 or 16 from time to time but always migrate back to my O/U's

The Stoeger is a fine gun. I wish they made it in 20ga. I would own one is a second. My son had one with little trouble. It didn't shoot some low base loads but functioned well with all hunting loads

Onpoint

Browning Gold 12 ga.- For upland only quail and phez!
Browning Citori Over and Under- trap and Skeet

Benelli Super Black Eagle 12 ga.- Ducks and Geese

Benelli Nova Camo 12 ga.- for turkeys (3 1/2 in. shells)

Winchester Featherweight 30 06- Deer

Beretta 391 or bust. :)

My first gun was a youth 870 Express 20 guage. Grew up and bought a 12 guage 870 Express. Hard telling how many pheasants/quail/dove I shot with those two guns for the 10 years I shot them.

After graduating from college I bought a Beretta 391 like my bro-in-law had just bought. Then dad bought one. Then my uncle bought one. Then my buddy from college bought one. Then a coworker bought one. Then a couple other buddys bought them. We are sold on them. Now its 7 years later and I don't even bother looking at 'field' shotguns as I can't see anything being any better.

Beretta Xtrema 2 with kick-off. It's the cat's AZZ! I shoot it for everything but trap. I shoot a Browning pump for trap so I'm not ejecting shells at the guy next to me.

I like to hunt waterfowl as well as upland birds. The Xtrema 2 has virtually no recoil even with goose loads. Lots easier to double when your gun doesn't jump on the first shot...

I know it's on the high end of the autoloader price range, but it was worth it to me. I'm just a poor working man, but I'm glad I spent the extra money to get a durable and reliable autoloader.

FWIW, my buddy shoots a benelli SBE, and he feels the same way about his gun.

I was planning on getting a new Beretta A400 last weekend to help celebrate the 4th of July but Cabela's didn't see fit to have on in stock for me. So I am still only using my 870.

Benelli Legacy 12 for pheasants; Benelli M1 20 for just about anything; Ruger Red Label 28 for quail.

I shoot a BPS for everything... I've got a few of them now, and I'm not sure I'll ever shoot another gun. Never had problems with them, and they get hunted in some pretty harsh conditions

I shoot a model 1200 winchester and a model 1100 Remington but I still have that old Ithica 37 right beside me I love that gun for 2 reasons 1 its a straight shooter and never lets me down and 2 it was my granpas gun that he bought 5 days after his ship landed back in the US after ww2 lots of heritage behind that old gun

I'll be shooting my O/U's 20 and 28 on Upland Birds this fall. But new baby that will be here in a few days. Is a Remington 1100 Automatic 28 gauge. I'll shooting that at clays this summer and it will get some use at the birds this fall....:10sign:..........Bob

Grew up shooting 1100 now have a 11-87 Super-mag does the job until I can afford the O/U I have my eye on :)

I forgot, I have a 11-87 Premier 20 gauge, I like to shoot at times. It helped my getting the 1100........Bob

686 Silver Pigeon combo 20-28

Beretta al 391 gold 20

Benelli Legacy Sport 12 , that shoots sweet!

Browning BPS 12

I use them all!!!

6lb Merkel all day. Can't miss with that gun. The Browning A-5 also, but does not always eject and might just have a single shot. Need to work on that issue.

Frochi Golden Pheasant #5 or #6, doesn't really matter in the Merkel.

The bud has got me good right now!
