Its not a very good day for me. 3 weeks ago my 7 year old Gordon Bonnie starting acting a little listless. I took her to the vet and they diagnosed her with a kidney infection and gave us antibiotics and sent us home. A week later she still wasn't better so we took her back. They did blood work and noticed her kidneys were failing. My wife rushed her to kstate vet hospital and they started running test. They found she had asprilla fungus in her bladder and kidneys. They put her on an antifungal med and her kindneys seemed to be getting better. Today she started running a fever and acting funny again so they did a cardiogram. The fungus has spread to her heart and there is nothing they can do. This is the only case of this they have ever seen. My wife went to get her and the vet will put her down here at home in the morning. I have her littermate also and they have never hunted seperate since they were pointing tame birds at 12 weeks. I hope he will still hunt without her. She is the best pheasant dog I have ever been around as well as our family pet and will be sorely missed. Its kind of taken the excitement out of looking forward to this season for me.
