Rooster Lager

Maybe it has already been reported, but the Bank Brewery in Lake Hendricks apparently went with Walleye Lager this year per what I have seen on the shelf. Still donating profit to conservation. Have not drank any yet--maybe same as Rooster was which was good!

Buck, the Bank Brewing Company in Hendricks still makes Rooster Lager. They actually make four different brews:

Rooster Lager
Walleye Chop Lager
1876 Rye Ale
Longbeard Winter Wheat Lager

Apparently they did not get any stocked in the local Hy-Vees where I buy most of my brew. Will try the walleye one of these days.

I like that they support our sport, but the beer tastes like axle grease. The better part of a 12 pack sat on the deck for several months. Finally threw it away. Nobody would drink the stuff. Bitter as all hell with enough after taste that I thought I would have to lick my butt to get the taste out of my mouth.

Come on Chuck, it's not that bad. I've had some of the Rooster and it was drinkable. Not something I ran right out bought more of. I might have to try some of their other brews to see if there is a difference. Maybe if you hadn't let it sit on your deck in the sun for several months it would have tasted better! :D

That was after it took up room in my beverage fridge for two months. I finally kicked it out on the deck. Nice looking bottles, I'll give it that. Ya need a steak knife and fork to drink it.:laugh:

Try the new Bud Light Platinum..now that's good beer

Sipping on a Bud Light as I type this. Chuck, you thinking about coming down to the UPH Hunt by Avon?

Would love to, just don't think it's in the cards. Sure would be nice to meet some of you guys. :(

Don't go down the beer latter on my account. :D

Not just your run of the mill Bud-Light. The New Bud-Light Platinum It's smooth, no after taste and about 6% alcohol.

I know, I know..you only drink Wisconsin beer..Right?

I like some Minnesota beer, schell's beer, Grain Belt Premium. My normal beer would be Miller Highlife in a bottle only(Wisconsin Union made beer). I only like bottled beer if I drink any. I don't drink much beer though. Use to love Bud Dry and Bud Ice, don't believe they make either anymore.

I drink beer that taste good where it's made doesn't factor in.

If I had 1 kind I'd go with an imperial stout. A lot of different micro brews and such that have them. 6 % is about half what a good one has.

I bought 3 twelve's of the Rooster last year---I am 50% Czech and I guess it shows. I drink a lot of Schell's, mostly their regular and the dark. I am pissed at Bud, Miller and evryother product owned outside of this country. I see even Liennie's is owned by SAB now. I'll buy American. That new Budlite tastes like bad champagne, not beer.

OK what's the AVON hunt thing. Did I miss something?

It's the UPH Hunt that Tbear is putting together. Since we couldn't go to Granite Falls (no birds) it's being held in Avon (just west of St. Cloud).

It's the wife's beer and all I had left in the refrig. Sorry. I'll go get some Grain Belt in the morning! :D

I wish my wife would drink Beer then she could stay out of my Jim Beam:D

The beer is made in cold Spring Minnesota for now and marketed in Hendricks but it was in the paper today that the old creamery in Hendricks is being restored and they are going to brew it there starting in 2014. Thinking down the road aways.

6% alcohol and after a couple you can really feel it. Gotta love the blue bottle.
