Retirement hunt

This could be Tbone’s retirement hunt depending on weather for the rest of the season. I got Tbone when he was two and he has hunted 11 seasons. He did a couple of great retrieves after finding two of the birds after a lengthy search. Tbone has taken over 160 pheasants with me as well as a number of quail and prairie chicken.

He ends his career on a high note. Today was great day and a sad because things are coming to an end.

Congrats on a what sounds and looks like a fine hunt! Days afield with an older dog are bittersweet; you see the future, but you have a book of memories in your mind. To me, a dog's only fault is that they leave us too soon.

Right there with you. I have the ashes of all my dogs. I told my wife that when I die, I'd like to have my ashes mixed with theirs, and then scattered in a few of our favorite haunts.

That one got me. Not been too long since my 14 yr old setter got his last season in. One of his last trips was to NE. A hunting buddy and I spread some of his ashes in ND. It will be tough I assure you.
