Purple

once the fat man was run out by Lew Perkins and his crooked cronies KU's football chances left with him. He at least put a team out there that you thought had a chance. Turner Gill is not the answer. They ought to let Bill Self coach football too. Maybe Frank Martin could do it, he will be looking for work soon.

Don't know the history on the "purple paint - no hunt" regulations, but I understood Kansas was following the lead from another state(s).

What about getting beat 59-7, or winning 3 games last season? Was that depressing?

I should brag about how the Cats used to beat up on KU at Ahearn.

Just yankin' your chain.:D:cheers:

I also recall a 64-0 pasting KU received at the hand of the Cats in 2002 I believe... it was snowing that day. :D

Thanks for getting us back on topic M.R. Byrd!

The color needed to be one that would not encourage people to steal the sign, and purple is such an ugly color that it was believed no one in their right mind would want them!

I like this response as well:D I like to see both teams be successful in anything they do....I root for my home state. HOWEVER, you'll never catch me wearing or driving anything that is purple!

C'mon, KB... Hunter orange and purple is a great combo for any bird hunt and works well for any social gathering I care to attend.

Why purple?

Those of us in the road construction and utilities maintenance business use a variety of different colors to mark underground utility lines. Red is used for buried power lines, yellow for gas lines, blue for water lines, orange for communications lines etc. Almost all properties are marked with posts along the perimeter of the property and alongside the roadway. This is usually where the underground utilities are buried. Purple was chosen because it is a bright color that readily stands out from the background and it is not being used to mark any underground utilities. No conflicts and no confusion.
Hope this answers your question.

Dang I just thought all the purple was KSU supporters. Guess I better get me some permission next year. Just Joking NOBODY SHOOT ME.

As a KU alum and huge fan, I never thought I'd consider wearing purple. BUT, if that lets me hunt all that land I might just have to get me a a Powercat hat.:D

This is one of those times I think that being from Iowa gives me the advantage when asking to hunt. I often here the response, "where are you from, Iowa? well heck ya you can hunt you guys suck at everything".

I am more a Jayhawk fan than Kansas State for the simple fact that Roy Williams made a living recruiting Hawkeye State basketball players because nobody wanted to play for Alford or the multiple coaches that held the reigns at Iowa State.

I always keep a little purple in the truck as well as the blue but I always get screwed by the occasional Kansas landowner that has sold out to the Big Red...LOL!!

On another note I am glad to see the snow falling across the great state of Kansas because maybe, just maybe you will have another full wheat crop which always means Rudy and his offspring will be alive and well next fall. It also doesn't hurt that a nice wheat crop puts money in the pockets and makes everybody happy!!!

Just got home from a waste water class. Purple is now the color of choice for recycled (treated) water being used for irriagation. Pipes and valves and signage to be purple. Just when we all got the answer about purple paint being color of choice for no trespassing some dipshit has to use it for recycled water. Why didnt they go with a earthy brown? only seems fitting for the product being transferred.
