Sev and I killed one the other day. She doesn't like her picture taken!

Not to nitpick, well maybe I am nitpicking just a bit ... but how are pile shots on old abandoned farm equipment that much different than on a tail gate?

Old abandoned farm equipment is just scrap iron that needed to be recycled, if you grew-up on a farm or are a farmer. I guess it is a place to stack birds if you are not by your pick-up. In western SD there seems to be tons of it scattered around the countryside, I assume that is due to the lack of local outlets that buy scrap iron.

Sev, is almost a duplicate of Bob. He was the best Pheasant do I've ever owned. He was Dixi land blood. What's the gun?
Sevee is four and I haven't been able to hunt her as much as I would like but she's coming along nicely. She's got a great nose but could do better on retrieving and finding dead birds.
The gun is a Caesar Guerini Tempio Light in 12 gauge.

Nice to see older hunting dogs still out there doing what they love.
Yes I agree, my yellow is 12, and she still wants to go, but I can only take her in certain terrain because she has gotten hung up in some thick cover this year, and her hips are not great, but she can do probably 3 miles of flat mellow ground. I think this is probably her last year of hunting. But yes it is really good to be able to take an older dog out, I'm not as serious about shooting birds as I once was, I really do love to see the dogs get out, and we usually get a few.

Feral cats I rescued here in SD a month ago…tiny at the time…3-4 weeks old? Bottle fed them formula while here at the hunting house. Got them bird killers off the pheasant streets, probably explains the strong bird #’s….then there’s Lena, she made a very perfunctory retrieve yesterday afternoon on the bird shot with the 28 gauge…they kill so lethally there’s hardly any real work for the dogs…🤩
