Hello. I am from S. MN, a small town with about 10 WMAs within a 10 minute drive. I think one of them still has a couple of pheasants in it.
I hunt with a field bred English Springer Spaniel. The dog has an excellent pedigree and does better at finding birds than I do at shooting them. The dog is getting old and slowing down, but so am I.

Welcome to UPH Doug! I'm kind of a newbie two but the guys and gals are great on here and even make you laugh! I love it more than FaceBook.

Welcome to UPH Doug, I suppose you'll be telling us next your getting to old for a 12 gauge. Or have you made the jump to the sub-gauges just for the fun of them? Well you will find out anyway... I'm 77 and a sub-gauge lover. So take your shots. By the way I'm a Brittany man have been for well over 40 years......Bob

Actually my favorite shotgun is a 16 g. I've carried a Remington Sportsman48 for about 50 years now. Long barrel, full choke. Reaches out and touches them . Also lighter than my Baretta 12 O/U. My neighbor has a nice little Britt that I hope to shoot over this year.

Been carrying it for 50 years...gosh, Bob, you might have some competition for "old guy" of the year award...:)

There are things a lot worse than getting old. Not getting old being one of them. Another few months and I get my dirty old man permit.

Hi Doug and welcome to UPH. This is a great little community.

Where to you live in southern Minnesota? I grew up in Canby. But that was many years ago as I'm one of the older guys around here too. Been hunting pheasants for 55 years. Still come back to the canby area to hunt once or twice a years with some old friends.

DougB,

I'm from Mankato originally and my grandfather had a farm just north of North Links golf course and just south of 14. I'm a Trask. Not sure if that rings a bell. Mom has a quilt shop up by the River Hills Mall.
