Not sure why, or how, but I became enthralled with the 28 gauge about a month ago...been looking at quite a few spanish s x s guns...uggie and AYA, mainly...finally pulled the trigger on an uggie model 30...basic model, dt, english stock, splinter forearm, IC/M, extractors. The thought of the smaller shells in my breast pocket while grouse hunting has me kind of grinning...started shooting a 20 ga. about 3 years ago....put about 8-10 shells in my pocket and away I go for an hour or two. Bought some shells from B & P for the 28 gauge today....15/16 oz of #6, #7.5, and #8....1330 fps, I believe...I think this will work nicely for sharpies, ruffs, and huns....and, early season pheasants within 30 or 40 yards. Looking forward to this gun....5 lbs, 12 oz....should feel pretty dainty...I do have an Uggie grade 3 16 ga that weighs 5 lbs, 13 oz...nice to carry as well. Anyone here shoot a 28 gauge????? What are your thoughts???

Congrats, should be a dandy little grouse gun.

I bought a 3 barreled Cynergy feather set a few years back 20/28/410. I find myself carrying the 410 more and more. A half a box of shells weighs nothing and takes up little room. A guy can travel very light. It makes for a quit comfortable little hike.

I shoot a remington 1100 sporting clays 28 gauge and I have been amazed at some of the hits I have made on doves to the point that is all I use in the dove fields now, I have used it on quail and it has yet to let me down. I have not tried it on pheasants but sure in the early season it will do fine. I wish I could fine a place to rabbit hunt with it like I did when I was a kid in Missouri

Welcome to the real shooters world!!!!!!:10sign:

Welcome to the club. As you fall in love with your 28 you will notice the other guns hardly ever making an appearance in the field. I ordered a case of those 15/16th B&Ps a few seasons ago and still haven't shot them all, they will put a wallop on your shoulder in a sub 6lb gun.

Welcome to the gun club

Welcome. Can't say my 28 makes me keep the other guns in the safe but I do enjoy shooting clays with it and taking it to the dove field occasionally. good change of pace.

Lets see some pics!

Ah, the 28 ga. awesome upland gun, my go 2 gun...my 12ver is rust & dust, use it when turkey season opens, that about it! ;)

My 20-28 ga--the 20 is used little--the 28 a lot--just love it--I also have a 28 ga 870 pump.

I hope I have some money someday to purchase that gun from you Chuck!!! You may not want to sell it when I have money though!!!! It sure is nice and I would like to see more double and triple barrel sets made!!! Here is mine. I may be buried with it!!!!

When your demise comes Bleu I may have to come dig the gun up, well I guess I wouldn't as you would probably haunt me. Great looking gun though, I can see who has money know.

Sweet set Bleu....It's a love hate thing with my Cynergy Feather. I love the gun and hate to sell it.

Love my 28ga. Do quite a bit of bobwhite quail hunting and that means lot's of walking and small birds. IMO the 28ga is the perfect gun to use. Light, doesn't blow them to hell, gives good reach and two shots is all you're getting anyways.

Have a Renatto Gamba Principesa box lock SxS. Not super fancy, just a well made, well balanced gun of good parts and workmanship.

I find myself every few months on Ithaca's website looking at their new 28 guage Model 37.

I love my 28 gauge Ugartechea!
