Look what followed me home

I went to Pine Shadows on Saturday to look at some litters that will be coming home in June. They had a couple of older pups left over and this little guy decided he really liked me.

Actually I am rehoming a springer that doesn't have a very good nose so I will still just have 3 dogs.

Nice!

Great looking pup.

Great looking pup Jeff, congrats.:10sign:

Dandy looking pup there JS. Pine Shadows has a real good name for Springers.

Your comment re a "left over pup" brought a smile. I got wind of a litter at Paul and Vicky McGagh's that they never advertised as most were already spoken for. They had two pups left- a blue roan male and a pretty scrawny little female. I wanted a male so Rocky came home with me. He's been the best "turn key" bird dog I've ever had. They kept the little female. She made Fld Ch her first season and placed second in the Nationals against ~75 older seasoned dogs. She was a "left over" pup. Blood well tell and it helps if Paul and Vicky are doing the developing and training.;)

NB

Thats cute but what happened to the 2nd setter Idea?

I just wanted to replace the springer I am rehoming. That way I'll have a dog that can hunt this year still.

I can't believe how slow this setter is to mature!

Want to get together this year and run dogs? Your setter should be old enough by now to run him on birds. We could even let the new pup pull a few feathers.

Let's do it. I have been running him on birds a lot. Not wild birds yet though, mainly pen reared quail.
