Live Pheasant Photos

How do you get these? How many birds are in this area? Phenomenal!!

Thank you. I feed these birds and I have an awesome blind. They do not know that I am there. I see a few dozen each day. We lost alot to the Weather in late Nov and early Dec.:)

Just great shots all the time. I enjoy seeing these much more than the
numerous web sites for hunting lodges showing their piles of dead birds.
I enjoy pheasant hunting but must say that these live photos make you
appreciate the beauty of these birds so much more. I can't believe the
clarity of the birds in motion. Great job!!

Thanks, Steven. I am glad that you enjoy some of them:)
As strange as it may seem, the only time I enjoy seeing a picture of a dead bird is when it is being retrieved by my dog. So, I share the ones that I think are more enjoyable.

Even though, at times, I find even more beauty in the Hens.....Go figure:)

Well said steven. From early childhood I could not wait for my father to come home from hunting to see what was in his bag, so we are all hunters here.

But the older we get inside every hunter is a wlldlife conservationist ( wanting to keep the species alive for the next season). The closer we get to Feb. and March the more I like to see healthy seed crop (live healthy birds) for next summers hatch.

With almost fifty thousand views on this thread I feel that most people would like to keep this a live bird show.

 Steven!! I particularly appreciate the pictures of birds in flight. You can see just what each feather (practically) is doing to turn this large, runner of a bird into something so brilliantly aerodynamic. Really cool! That said, I take a lot of pictures of dead ones, but my dog &/or kids are the true subjects. And I'll admit to absolutely loving to shoot them, but much more for the dog than for me anymore. I don't need a pheasant, but he sure deserves a prize for all the hard work. When he returns with a mouthful of rooster, I think we're both equally proud. But we're proud of the same "person"....him!

Anyway, keep them coming! They're awesome. Thanks Hettmoe!

You guys have summarized my the thrill of hunting and dog work better than
I could ever describe it. We need quality photos like these of our flushing/pointing dogs in action. Nothing better!!! Another project for Hettmoe.HAHA

Thanks for the kind words, Guys.

There are a whole lot of nice photos of dogs doing their thing in the Main Bird Dog Forum.

Thanks. Yeah, it's ND. And we do have lots of snow......and some pheasants that are still around.
