How about those Chiefs!

Enough talk about hunting. Do you guys think this is a hunting forum or something?

3-0! I think as the season progresses they will only get better obviously, and work out some of the bugs.

Exciting times to be a Chiefs fan I believe.

Watched the special on Derrick Thomas Tuesday night. Gosh those were the days. Even though no Superbowl appearance or win, we sure did have some players on the team back then and winning was a way of life. Marty was a good coach but I think he and his staff were the reason they never made it to the big game.

Hell, I was excited that we had a baseball team to cheer for in September. Maybe sports in KC are on the upswing!

Yep, my wife and I have been pretty excited about the recent signs of KC pro sports success. Let's hope it continues and that these 2 teams can find their way into the post-season in their respective sports (I know, too late for the Royals this season, BUT....).

CHIEFS!!!!!! I used to be a season ticket holder than i decided i would spend my sundays hunting. It is a nice problem to decide wether to watch the chiefs or go chase the birds. The last 5 yrs hasnt made that decision too difficult. 4-0 hopefully!!

Looks like Andy Reed is turning that program around. Having Alex Smith doesn't hurt either. Their defense has really stepped it up.

However..... they just happen to be in the same division as Peyton Manning and the red hot Broncos. It will be tough to win that division, but I certainly like the direction their headed.

I look at their schedule and aside from the Bronco's game(s) I don't see a game they won't be favored in. I do think the Bronco's game at home is winnable. Our defense is much better than denver's, and one thing the annointed one doesn't like is to get smashed in the mouth. With Poe in the middle against an undersized center, it could spell a tough day for a QB like Manning who stays in the pocket. We'll see, I do think 11-5 12-4 is possible.

At last. A good time to be a KC sports fan. Really like the way the defense is looking, gonna be a fun year.

Still weak at the wide receiver spot. Getting the tight ends back will help in the offense. Offensive line needs to get better. Defense looks solid. Really been impressed with Smith, great cover guy and supports the run the well. Poe is drastically improved. Eric Fischer is struggling big time. Lets hope he improves.

Pressure on Manning is key. We have the ability to get to him from both sides and up the middle. They will have to keep a back in to help in protection. However he does get rid of the ball quick and Manning is the greatest football player I have ever seen. Don't underestimate Denvers defense.

Denver's defense is good because Manning and the offense are insane. They put a ton of pressure on the other offense to score, knowing 28 pts probably won't win. I think KC has the perfect defense to beat him. Strong upfront to sag the pocket, with good rush on the end's. They also have good corners and a decent safety. When Manning get's hit a bunch he becomes pretty human. That was alway's new englands recipe and they owned him over the years.

There seems to be confusion, or hazy thinking about state line, this is the Kansas forum after all, Chiefs reside at 1 Arrowhead in Kansas City...... MISSOURI.

Yeah but since we don't has a pro team we kind of claim them as well. After the city is name KANSAS CITY even if it is in missery. :D

You are kiddin yourself! Chiefs defense is better than Denvers? Having watched Manning in Indy up close for 10+ years I have a different view! When you have a pass first QB like Manning who can read defenses like he can the game becomes one of possession, the defense is built to bend but not break, allow opposing teams to move upfield quickly (save clock time), then stiffen with personnel changes in the red zone and get the offense (Manning & co.) back the ball. Give the Manning led offense as many touches as possible. In effect trading 3s for 7s! For the record the Broncos are number 1 in points, passing yards, rushing yards and total yards ytd. all in funyall

FYI. Chiefs D is giving up 10pts a game
Denver D 22.5 per game

Pretty much same competition and chiefs D has given up half the score. That is what counts isn't it?

Chiefs D would have pictched a shutout against the giants sunday except cruz beat our second stringer for a 69 yard pass. Cooper, a rookie with 4.3 speed was brought in and cruz wasn't heard from again. Flowers, a top 5 corner will be back, this week or next. I think you Manning lover's have forgotten how the annointed one preforms when a strong D line smacks him around a little, um Raven's playoff game ring a bell? The chief's D will on fire when Bronco's come to town. I see at least a split.

Manning has bad games and weaknesses like the rest. Denver is averaging about 43 ppg this season and K.C Chiefs about 25 ppg. The Chiefs are not on Denvers level yet. They have 2 games against them this season to prove otherwise???::D

Hey.. you Chiefs fans should have every right to be excited, you certainly deserve it. Andy Reed has turned that club around and has the ship steered in the right direction.

However....... Outside of the mediocre Cowboys they haven't really beaten anyone with a winning record so to speak. Come'on... Jaguars, Eagles and Giants. Those clubs are par with our Vikings w/Ponder.:D

You'll get a better idea next week against the Titans who are coming off a big win.

Hard to compare the 2 since Denver scores so quick. I think you need to look at the ratio to points scored and points given to come to a better conclusion.
