C'mon Rain

Worked LE until 1 this morning. My roads are breaking down. Big mud holes developing. Better problem that too hard to blade! We had .35 yesterday and it's raining right now! Keep it coming. It looks like it's been pretty wide spread.

You should dig a ditch or run a pipe up here.

Rain has been falling on the snow pack up high as well as all the rain we got. The news said over 480 billions of gallons fell in loveland, which if put in milk containers would stretch around the earth 3 times.

SEK is very dry. Been watering my garden for 4 weeks now. Are grass is not really mowing. Usually this time of year I mow my yard every 4 days or so. My son has a mowing business and is only mowing some yards every 2 weeks. Ponds and pits are very low.

I live in NE KS, and haven't mowed in near 2 weeks. Usually every 5 days this time of year, lots of rain all around it seems, but my waterfowl ponds are all from 4-6 ft low.

Should of been beneficial rain for you today and tonight.

I had 0.15" at the Ponderosa early this morning. Rain is needed badly. I have not been getting the rains that Dodge has, which is common.

With any luck hurricane Amanda will gain some speed on its northerly track and bring much need rains to parts of the prairie that need it most. There is a good chance that it could sit over northern Mexico and southern Texas and send much needed widespread rain to the region.

Looked promising, ended yesterday with .03, maybe .1 over night. Forecast looks promising for the next week. Hope it holds up statewide, haven't visited or talked with friends out west this spring.

After the first round we got, then seeing the forecast for the remainder of the w/e, I thought for sure we'd get 3-4" total, but that didn't happen. We had a couple of very minor showers after that first good blast.....sure could've used more, but some is better than none.

Lot of storms fell part as they approached. At 1" over the last week, 2.4" for the month, hopefully pick up more this week.

Funny.....I check the weather channel and the UNL drought monitor often to get updates on Kansas and the other prairie states. I always cringe when I see the large areas still under drought.....and cheer when rain comes your way!

PS....as a boy growing up in Nebraska, I developed a respect for the weather.
Dad used to say about the weather on the prairie..."it's everything out here, it determines what we do, from the extreme cold and wind to the severe heat and drought"!

Getting hammered in the TX Panhandle...hope you guys get some rain as well.

This is a big storm. I see it is on top of you JMc. A little lite rain here in Dodge now. Heavy stuff 50 miles west in Garden City and headed this way.

Getting hail (dime to quarter size) and 50+ mph winds. Better hang on...both dogs on the sofa pretending to sleep through it!
