Sorry for what I'm sure is a repeat of a repeat thread but I wanna try some cheapy type dog boots for my dog running in snow ice & rocky cactus sand but type terrain I've seen several post of wear to get quality & cheap dog boots I'm looking at the cheapy type I case my dog walks around like a new born horse 1st hunt or try to bite em off all day...

If they work I'll get some good 1s... I my dog will hunt threw ice balls & burs but I'd like to boot her & I don't wanna mess with mushers secret stuff if I can just boot her I think she will get used to them...

Dog boots

I make mine out off motorcycle inner tubes, works great and cost about $1 each. You can goggle them and see how they are made and attached to your dogs feet. Good luck
 
10squared racing has sleddog booties at about 2.50 each. Make of cloth for sleddogs on trails. I have them in myvet bag to use as needed. Still need to add some duct take for hunting dogs.

Keep in mind, the key to keeping these boots on will be how you tape them on. Just using the hook and loop strap that comes with the boot may not keep them on long term.

Here is a vid of how you should tape your dog boots on. The video depicts the lewis boots which are a different type of boot, but the same process can be used for any dog boot. Done this way they will stay secured and not come off !

I've had no problem with my dog throwing the dog booties just using the velcro and he hunts hard. One day he ran through one (had a broken toenail) while chukar hunting but never threw the boot.

He did throw one last weekend (another toenail) but the second one stayed on the rest of the day. They're so cheap I keep a few spares in my vest in case I need them.

I'm confused...we have high dollar hunting dogs but want cheap dog boots. How much do we spend on our boots?

Just order or pick up some Lewis Boots and you're good to go. My GSP's hunt quail just outside the Alibates Flint area and that stuff is like razors. The Lewis Boots are great at protecting them.

Just read my 1st post if your confused man really not hard to comprehend...

I buy cheap hunting boots for my self well actually hiking shoes if I get cheap boots that's my deal like in my 1st post if my dog does not kick the cheap boots I'll get her good 1s...

Read the entire post it helps being confused sometimes...

35$-60$ my hunting shoe runs I get 2 pairs at a time... Lol
 
JMC. While the dogbooties.com boots are "cheap" monetarily I assure you they are well constructed out of quality materials plus you can buy three or four sets for the price of one set of others. I always have a handful of them in my truck and they've saved the hunt for me and a few friends more than once.:cheers:

I bought a dozen booties from dogbooties.com. Lost two the first time out, then started taping them. Really only use them for supreme cold (which we had) and sharp/crunchy snow (which we now have).

Two thumbs up.

Yes that hard sharp icey crunchy snow & ice in cattails is 1 major reason I wanna try em cheap 1s especially cuz I can loose 1 & not super coastly to replace...

Herd of guys using baby type gloves in a pinch on trip etc. & using like medical tape the ez tear stuff to keep on... The Baby's gloves like the 1s they use to keep baby's from scratch n them self's...
 
Not meant to offend with my "cheap" comment but buying dog boots that may come off kind of defeats the purpose. I'm not affiliated with Lewis Dog Boots, but after years of trial and error with "less costly" boots...the Lewis are the best. I realize they are hard to find. Good luck with your search and hunts.
