Best Pheasant county in the USA?

This should get some good responces.....what is the best county in the U.S.A. for pheasant hunting in YOUR opinion and why, i.e. not just number of birds but other reasons for saying so, after all, it is not always just about the birds is it? I will reserve my opinion for later.

The county you are hunting in at the time.

I like your style.:cheers: I like to hunt for the birds, and limiting out is really not my goal. I'll take it when I can and, enjoy it when i can't.

Yes its the county you are hunting at the time.

I don't think you can say any one county is the best as everyone has a different opinion on what is best for them.

I will say for myself, I have fond memories hunting nearly 20 years in Hettinger county in NoDak. I stay with a farming family that runs a bed and breakfast. In the early years the kids were young. Watched them grow and go off to college, only to leave mom and dad alone at the homestead. I consider them very good friends to this day.

Tripp County (Winner), South Dakota.

I hunted a lot around Regent in Hettinger County ND. during the 80's and 90's. Mostly private property and now mostly pay to hunt.
MAN! was that some kind of pheasant country! All wild birds then and thousands of them.

I hunted Fresno county in central Ca this year. I saw 18 birds one day , boy those were the days. Best county for sure!:D

See its all in the eye of the beholder.

I agree. These three counties typically have the highest August road count in South Dakota. Can't speak for No. Dak. - have not hunted there.

You'd think Lyman, Gregory or Tripp might be in the running. Roosters stand on each other shoulders out there.

That's the case for more than half of the state of SD:):D
