Any CO Blue Grouse Hunters???

1 flush + 1 point + 1 Shot = 1,000

Hunted hard for a day and a half in the Steamboat area. It was great to get out for a couple days and get some much needed exercise.

Great job!!!! Nice photo also!!! I went up that way and saw nothing after aweek when I saw a bunch!!! Had a good time though!!!!!:10sign:

Obsession, great looking pup.:10sign: You threw me of with the one point thing, but I assume you meant pointed your gun.:D

We will be heading up to our quail camp next weekend for mountain quail. If we are lucky we might get into a few grouse and tree squirrels also.

@Obsession - bet I know pretty close where you were! Did you happen to see the dude with the GSP & about 8-10 guys in his RV camp? Hmm, I almost wonder if that was your little puff of feathers I ran across just below the ridge top... :coolpics:

My pup is a Brittany. She held a great point on this bird before I gave here the "OK." The bird flushed over a deep ravine and she had to run about 200 yards down the slope for the retrieve.

She is a great job, just wish I could have found her a few more!

Ok I get it now. I've never seen a liver colored brittany before. You had me fooled into thinking that was a springer. Oh well, she's still beautiful.

would like to get a chance to warm up before pheasants

If someone who knows the grouse game needs a student, let me know.. I walked the hills outside of allenspark last year, but only found deer hunters..

Nice work Obsession. It looks like Corbel is filling out a bit. I'll be up in the mountains this weekend, but probably won't get an opportunity to hunt. But if I do, I'm going to give sage grouse a shot.

My wife's boss goes onto the birdwatcher sites/blogs that all the Boulder treehuggers are on. He asks them where the best place to "watch birds" is for whichever kind of bird he wants to hunt. I though it was a pretty awesome idea!
