A Good Life

John, thanks for sharing.

I will never forget meeting you and your pops at Pheasant Fest in Wisconsin a few years back.

It is hard to believe he is not with us anymore and I enjoyed both your company at dinner that night.

Thanks for posting pictures of the animals with him. Very special.

I am sorry for your loss and the sport of pheasant hunting has lost a friend.

Regards,

Chris

My condolences. But your post did bring back great memories to me.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I remember pheasant hunting with my dad when I was about 4 years old. He let me get my first gun when I was 10. Lots of good memories. My dad passed on 21 years ago. Just so happens that today, March 30th, would have been his 94th birthday.

Boys, if you're lucky enough to still have your Pops around, appreciate him while he's here. It was a tough winter. The old boy lost his battle with Cancer on Jan. 30th. He stayed with me his last two months and he died a good death, at home, with family, friends and his beloved Springers at his side. I know if he could, he'd say that pheasant hunting was one of the reasons he lived "a good life".

A fine legacy to leave is a son that obviously he was proud of and that was proud of him. He lived a good a good life and fought a good fight. You honor him and us as well, with your shared thoughts and advice to us. God Bless you sir , and God bless your famly.

Bill

Your post with the dogs speaks volumes. I hope I'm so fortunate as to pass in such surroundings when my time comes. Thank you for posting that . . . prayers your way.

Thanks again guys for all the kind words and thoughts.

I'm truly in awe of the loyalty the dogs displayed with my Dad in his final days. I believe they helped greatly in allowing him to achieve the level of peace in his mind and heart that ultimately allowed him to let go of this world.
