Wow, looking at the numbers, compared to where things were a year we're golden. Thanks for posting these Bleu.

Welcome. Hope some guy's get some use out of them. Just a good piece of the puzzle to have!!! Yes, it is a lot better then last year and if we can get to spring looking this good we should start to see some increase in the Birds. Still should see some localized populations.

So from a moisture point of view a better year for pheasant and not so good for scaled quail? I haven't been off the interstate out in the eastern or south-eastern plains since last winter so I have no idea how much cover was lost (or gained). Thoughts?

Cover should be a ton better! Moisture was a little late for best pheasant production. I would say the scalies did way better then they had been doing. Lots of cover should be the norm, which translates into a bunch of walking.

It has been awhile since I checked in and it looks a lot better than the last few years. Hope the chicks didn't drown with all the rain and a bit of hail they have had. Thanks for posting as it gives us hope. Getting ready to walk the dog

With some good rain coming in today we should be going into fall in really good shape compared to the last few years...

Has anybody here been out to the eastern plains lately and seen birds? Would love a boots on the ground report.

I have, but keeping it close to the vest at this time.

No More RED in Colorado and it is shrinking in SW Kansas as well. Looking good. Let's keep it up Ma Nature!!!

At this rate...

I'm going to have to buy a Colorado license and hunt in my own state this year. : )

Thanks for the heads up! If we have a soft winter it will be good for the birds indeed.
