started off strong today...first WALK IN area Ace pointed a covey and a single ...then I spent about 3 hours driving around for looking at other Walk Ins that didn't have what I wanted and were LOTS of others I couldn't get to...only hunted 2 other small ones that didn't pan out...then headed...

tough hunt in snow storm today but we got it done. Birds were running like CRAZY....would never expect it in the snow....was over a foot in some areas...Ace pointed 2 birds early that ran and flushed wild 30-40 yards out...no shot. then first rooster we got he pointed bout half dozen...

it's nearing the end now here in IL...today was last day of the season but they are extending it till next week on some state ground I hunt where they release pheasants. my young gun Ace had 2 points on hens of all things...but they're legal and I shot them. been a week since I've been out...

just got home from my day trip to MO. 7 hours of driving....3 quail seen and 2 points on rabbits. did see 5 bald eagles though...hunted some really nice cover...all public....I think it gets pounded pretty good. was disappointed.

need some input from a MO resident.....I was trying to buy a non-res hunting license online....it only shows a deer permit and a heritage card as available for purchase??? I called a license vendor and didn't get much help other than they could sell me a license for $80. MO conservation...

well....came back to Kansas to get some more use out of my license I got last January when I was here....6-10 inches of snow on ground at home in IL and COLD temps.....Kansas welcomed me with snow free terrain and warm temps...TOO WARM actually....have had great couple days checking out some new...

tomorrow morning I'm on my way to one of my favorite spots in the great state of Kansas....and hoping to find some new ones.....weather looks to be pretty nice out there...better than 6 inches of snow on the ground..ice and temps in the 20's like here in IL.

was in the U.P. second week of October had great hunt. Limited on woodcock every day....found good # of grouse but never connected on one. Of course they were in the thickest stuff imaginable. Even when they were pointed I couldn't make it happen. lol GREAT TRIP as it was last year as well.

I work on weekends so this past week was my "opening" of the season. Monday was tough. Saw 4 roosters but didn't any shooting. Wednesday was very good. Limit of roosters pointed by my younger wirehair and 5 points on quail by my 12 yr old wirehair. Got 3 quail. Thursday was good day...
