Most of eastern Oregon is public land. We typically have OnX with us and stop when we find public land that looks right and go hunting. Better than 1/2 the time we find quail and chukar in the same habitat.

If anyone is interested in a different upland experience check out eastern Oregon. Lots of quail and chukar on public land. Fairly liberal limits, 10 quail and 8 chukar daily.

Eastern Oregon is absolutely a riot for quail and chukar. This last weekend we were commonly seeing coveys of 50 birds and ran across one covey that easily had 100 birds in it. What was pretty cool was the number of quail that still had pin feathers, they were tiny and could barely fly.
