Anybody get cool stuff for Christmas?

Hey Toad,
do you have any tips or what type of resin is best to work with polyester or epoxy ??

I would guess you will want polyester resin. The duck boats I have seen had a thin wood skeleton/skin, and then were reinforced and waterproofed using fiberglass layup. I bet there are some good videos on the internet of people making things from fiberglass layup. People tend to post videos of everything these days... Just make sure you follow the directions, measure correctly, mix thoroughly, and only make up as much as you can use right away.

But I would follow the instructions you got for Christmas. I'm just some guy on the internet and I've never built a whole boat from fiberglass.:D

The good news is that the materials are fairly cheap compared to the price of a boat. You could probably make several for the price of a single boat and the biggest cost would be your time, but it's time well spent if you like to DIY. You could make one to learn how to do it, sell that sucker on craigslist, and then make one for yourself once you know what you are doing...

Cool Stuff for Christmas

I picked up a boot dryer (love it). I also picked a membership to a local hunt club to extend my season. (I think my wife enjoys it when I'm out of the house. This marriage has potential):D

Wife got Diamonds
Kids got TV's
Dogs got whole smoked beef femur bones

I get to keep hunting cause everyone is happy....It works for me!

PS. Going to PV Mexico last week of Jan. So my hunting season will be shortened. It's ok..I like the warm beach and the cold beer.
